Discovery Therapy Providing therapy to children and adults in their homes, schools, &/or daycare settings, to improve life skills for a brighter future.

Our team provides therapy to children and adults to discover and develop the needed skills to perform activities of daily living "occupations" of daily life! A child's occupation is; playing, exploring toys, & their environment, self-feeding, dressing, bathing, sitting up to perform these tasks, as well as, assisting with modulating sensory. The traditional five senses are; touch, hearing, taste,

smell & sight, as well as our two "internal" senses, body awareness (proprioception) and movement (vestibular). Proprioception allows for motor control and posture, while vestibular receptors tell the brain where the body is in space. Gross motor skills involving the major muscle groups, the individual will struggle with things like balance, coordination, strength and endurance. Fine motor skills the hand muscle, when an individual has difficulty with dexterity as shown during scribbling, writing, using scissors, stringing beads, buttoning, etc. Providing the child or adult with therapy intervention will assist with improving their abilities for greater achievement in school, in their home, in the community, etc.
