The Art and Science of Being Beautiful: The Core Strategy (introduction).✨🥀🔮
Rogers and Maslow talk about the core strategy in their theory of self-actualisation- or self-fulfilment. This form of creativity has its unique quality: it accurately reflects reality. In psychotherapy, this means that the person clearly perceives their desires and does not repress them; there are no internal conflicts. In other words, the dreams, desires and aspirations are flowing, are always present and never given up on. ✨💖
In contrast, a neurotic person can create when the driving force of creativity is a conflict of aspirations or desires. Such creativity characterises non-integrated individuals, where creative work takes the form of defensive activity
According to Maslow, the most important phase of creativity is inspiration—the moment when ideas and projects are born. The second phase- secondary creativity, involves the tedious work of communicating the effects of the first phase—inspiration. 💡
Maslow prefers research on women's creativity, which, according to his observations, is less focused on success and more on deep engagement with the creative process itself.
Gestalt psychology speaks of creativity as a "holistic quality" through which the entire person expresses.
Gestalt therapy and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) set an implicit goal for the client: TO ACCESS THEIR INTUITION. 🔮🎯💡
The primary goal is to help a person reconnect with their feelings by temporarily suspending defensive mechanisms and interpretations. Only then becomes possible to experience the consistency of one's feelings, thoughts, and the client's personal communication. 🌺💖
This does not mean that defence mechanisms do not need to be used when necessary.
The alignment of emotions, motivations, and behaviour creates the conditions necessary for intuition to emerge: intuition starts guiding decision-making. 🔮
When creative intuition is activated, the person can make life choices they fully identify with—decisions that, from their personal perspective, are the only right ones. For them, there is no turning back and no other option. 💯
These decisions are not shaped by a false ‘self’—a persona adopted to fit external expectations or, in Freudian terms, to satisfy the Superego. Instead, one's attitude toward oneself and the actualisation of the core- strong – integrated 'self' schema is the key. 🔑

*Superego, in Freudian terms, represents the internalised societal and moral expectations—the voice that pushes individuals to act according to rules, standards, and obligations.
*Self-actualisation, as described by Maslow, is about reaching one’s full potential, embracing authenticity, and living in alignment with one's deepest values. It reflects personal growth and fulfilment.
