Thank you for looking. In 2012, I wanted to create a bracelet I’d seen on a YouTube video. So I went shopping and gathered up the materials that I needed not really having a clue as where it would lead. My first beaded bracelet was not bad. I proudly wore it and relished each compliment which spurred me on to bead more. Soon I was beading bracelets for my friends and family as gifts. Then someone
asked me if I made necklaces. Just a long bracelet right? It wasn’t long before I was beading necklaces and pendants, rings, earrings and even briefly making my own paper beads. Beads and my beaded creations began to grow. Eventually I discovered that I'd run out of friends and family and there were only so many bracelets I could wear or give away. My family and co-workers were very supportive and suggested that I sell my beadwork. I did my first craft show in 2013 and was thrilled that people wanted to buy what I made. It wasn’t that I wanted to get rich beading, I just wanted to sell what I’d beaded so I could buy more beads and keep beading. As I’ve learned more about the bead craft my priorities changed as I now strive to create a better beaded product for a reasonable price. Although I bead to please myself first, it is very important to me that what I bead pleases my customers. If my customer isn’t happy, then I’m not happy. I will do whatever I can to exceed their expectations and my own expectations and provide my customers with a unique and beautiful product. It’s more than beaded bracelets and necklaces, it’s about an art form that will remain just as lovely and functional as the day it was completed. A special thanks also to the teachers who has shared their techniques and posted instructional videos and patterns. You are amazing!
