Tragically, 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐢𝐥𝐬𝐨𝐧, forever remembered as Lamont Sanford, has passed away at the age of 79.

His son confirmed that Wilson passed peacefully at his home in Palm Springs, California, following complications from cancer.

For five unforgettable seasons, from 1972 to 1977, Demond Wilson was the heart that kept Sanford and Son grounded. As Lamont, he played the straight man, the moral compass, and the quiet conscience opposite Redd Foxx’s explosive Fred Sanford. Where Foxx was chaos, Wilson was control. Where the jokes flew loud, his reactions landed deeper. He wasn’t just reacting — he was anchoring one of the greatest sitcoms in television history.

Off-screen, Wilson’s life evolved beyond Hollywood. He stepped away from acting at the height of fame, later dedicating himself to faith, family, and ministry. It was a rare exit. Intentional. Personal. He chose peace over spotlight.
