As Lamont, he played the straight man, the moral compass, and the quiet conscience opposite Redd Foxx’s explosive Fred Sanford. Where Foxx was chaos, Wilson was control. Where the jokes flew loud, his reactions landed deeper. He wasn’t just reacting — he was anchoring one of the greatest sitcoms in television history.
