I had a stroke in April of 2018 and after weeks of rehab, I was diagnosed as disabled. That fall, to help pull me from my depression, my husband helped me start Sewing and More as a hobby to get me out of the house doing local craft sales. Over the next few years my little hobby grew into a business. In November 2022, we moved into our current shop at 278 Main St in Old Town. As our business grew, so did my daily hours, stress, and overall health issues. We truly appreciate the welcome this community has given us, but after much consideration, we have decided that my health has to take priority.

Sewing and More, the brick and mortar shop, will close on December 31. The last day we will be receiving new alteration orders will be November 14th. Sewing and More will continue at our online shop, sewingandmore.com with all your unique gift needs. We hope you continue to support our little business in its new form.

In December, the shop will be open for sales only. Along with our inventory, we will have fabric, basic sewing machines and other crafting supplies as we downgrade to a much smaller space. Again, thank you for supporting Sewing and More and we appreciate you all

Our locations have been set for the 3rd Annual Ward Off the Grinch Food Drive.

We would like to personally thank Aaron Baker for his help securing some of our locations as well as U-Haul for providing this year's drop off boxes.

Locations for out drop off boxes are as follows:

- Rand-May Foundation for Children and Families - 145 Brunswick Street (In their drop off box across from OTPD)
- Sewing and More - 278 Main St.
- Pepper's Landing - 170 Main St.
- County FCU - 205 Main St.
- Lloyd's Family Market - 10 Gilman Falls Ave.
- Dysart's Travel Stop - 1667 Bennoch Rd.
- The American Legion - 20 Water St.
- Old Town Public Library - 46 Middle St.

Please stop in at our drop off locations to say "Hi" and drop something in a box. It's up to you to help beat the Grinch this year and help save Christmas. Even if it's just a can or two, some pasta or even some canned Roast Beast, it all adds up and reminds us all that we too can feel how the Grinch felt in the story...

It came without packages, boxes or bags.
And he puzzled and puzzled ’till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before.
What if Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store.
What if Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more.
