Marian “Darlene” Hannon, 92, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025 at St. Luke’s South hospital, Overland Park, Kansas. Darlene was born on October 9, 1932 in Olathe, Kansas to Henry B. and Myrtle Mae (Mills) Woolard. She grew up in Olathe and graduated from John P. St. John High School, Olathe.
On December 6, 1951, Darlene married Ralph Warren Hannon in Olathe, She worked in the family business, Warren Hannon Jeweler and owned the Merle Norman Cosmetic Studio in Olathe and Main Street Jewelry and Gifts in Branson, Missouri. Darlene was an avid bowler and she loved to travel. Darlene enjoyed stained glass, reading and playing cards. Her favorite time was spent with people, especially her family.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband of 74 years, Warren; son Richard (Sherry) Hannon, Olathe, Kansas; daughter Sue L. Wolfe, Branson, Missouri; sister Sharon Hayes, Olathe, Kansas; grandchildren Michelle Wolfe, Melinda (Duane) Kugler, Natasha (Josh) Cowden, Richard “Buz” (Tara) Hannon, Nicole (Zack) Harris, and Reid Hannon; Great-grandchildren Keaton (Charity) Cook, Rebecca Alderson, Everett, Graham and Olivia Kugler, Owen, Miller, Isabelle and Courtney Cowden, Roman, Levi, Asher and Gabe Hannon, Layton and Noelle Harris. Four nieces and one nephew.
Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, June 17, 2:30pm at Eagles Landing, 475 S Ward Cliff Drive, Olathe, Kansas 66061. Reception to follow.
