Sheridan Scott Conrad is a local artist with her roots firmly established in Oklahoma City, her home town. Ms.

Her introduction to metal-smithing began during art school at the University of Arkansas. Upon returning to Oklahoma, she entered the jewelry industry and acquired formal training with the Gemological Institute of America, where she developed the skill to buy, grade, and appraise diamonds and other gemstones. Scott has her Masters of Education in art and jewelry, and was an instructor in jewelry a

t Oklahoma City Community College from 1985-1990. In 2007, she obtained her National Board Certification in art education, and is currently teaching private and group classes in her own studio.

FINAL First Friday Gallery Walk: September 1st, 6-10pm
100th First Friday!

This marks my 100th First Friday here in the Paseo Arts District, and it seems more than a little serendipitous that this will be my last. I am closing the gallery in mid-September.

I recently came back from three weeks in Italy where I attended two workshops given by internationally known Florentine jewelers. I began to ask myself: Shall I continue investing my time in the gallery?

Ultimately the desire to pursue my own artistic endeavors has grown so strong that I cannot ignore it; therefore, I have decided to close the gallery. Even though I am shutting my doors at 2924 Paseo, I will not be ending my forty-year jewelry career. In my reconfigured business, still called A Jeweler's Art, I will be focusing my energies on new creations and custom designs, and I am thrilled about my new direction. In the months to come, my website will be redesigned, and I will send out a newsletter to announce its completion.

I appreciate your support and patronage over these past eight-plus years in the Paseo Art District and I cordially invite you to come in and celebrate with me this Friday, September 1 at A Jeweler's Art.

The artists that are represented by the gallery will be present. Please stop by and enjoy a traditional cup of my signature organic ginger tea.
