We’re so excited to share the news with you about frequent GalaxyCon guest and Inglorious Treksperts host and producer of such TV series as Pandora, The Librarians and Castle, MARK A. ALTMAN’s new documentary series, Greatest Geek Year Ever: 1982, will premiere on The CW Saturday, July 8th at 8 PM (with a special encore presentation Tuesday, July 11th) and air every Saturday night all July long.

Greatest Geek Year Ever is the story of a legendary moviegoing year spotlighting such iconic films as E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, 48 Hours, Rocky III, First Blood, Blade Runner, John Carpenter’s The Thing, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, Poltergeist, Creepshow, Fast Times At Ridgemont High, The Dark Crystal, Tron, Conan The Barbarian, Paul Schrader’s Cat People, and The Road Warrior. But, in addition to honoring the classics, the film revisits such cult films as Megaforce, The Beastmaster, The Sword & The Sorcerer, Night Shift, and many more.

Filled with exclusive interviews, rare behind-the-scenes footage and exclusivenever-before-seen clips in a fun, lively, no holds barred celebration of the legendary moviegoing year of 1982, Greatest Geek Year Ever will take viewers behind- the-scenes at a time when fandom was in its infancy, featuring eye-opening interviews with genre superstars from in front of and behind the camera, of the biggest and most influential movies ever made.
