✨Wow✨

i am in complete shock for so many reasons but most notably now at the support this community has shown me.

my spirit has been so low and i have gone through so much self doubt surrounding my work but you have all shown me that my art and jewelry really is worth pursuing and if anything i’m feeling more driven than ever to restart and continue.

i have been asked countless times how people can help. As i continue to uncover what has been taken the monetary value alone is upwards of $20000. i was super reluctant to start a go fund me or ask for money because SO many people are struggling and in need. but i hear you, i see that you genuinely want to help. so here it is , my partner set up a go fund me.

these photos are just a tiny sample of what was taken . i’m realizing that there’s at least 60 pieces of my finished work gone . on top of that the countless started projects, the various engagement rings , every single piece of metal in my studio is all stolen. it’s such a deep painful hole but i’m picking my spirits up and i will move on.

this monday i turn 40 and my intention is to make this year one of confidence and belief in myself and my art .

i’m reluctant to share this news and put this darkness in my feed but maybe it’ll help me process in some way. my beautiful space was robbed.

it’s impossible to articulate the loss that i feel. i feel completely violated, vulnerable, sad, angry . it’s uncertain how they got in the main building but they made their way to my private studio , smashed the window on my door and got in. it feels targeted which adds a whole other slew of emotions and fear.

they took everything. every half done beautiful inspiring project i was working on, boxxes of old meaningful projects, every piece of sheet, chain, wire silver and gold they could find, down to the solder. they took a tote of scrap silver that was so heavy because i’ve never once sent it to a refinery ( that i just recently got a rolling mill to process myself)

they took multiple incredibly valuable stones, someone’s engagement ring , all of my inventory that was displayed in my display case which was probably 60 pieces of finished jewelry. and so much more that i will slowly uncover and realize . they took everything of use. i literally couldn’t make a piece of jewelry in there if i wanted to right now . the monetary loss is one huge hole but the violation and theft of my very personal in progress and finished pieces has so much more value than $ and it hurts the most. they also ravaged through my studio mates stuff but didn’t take anything

but to top it of off they took every liquid thing in my studio , bleach disinfectant spray, soap, windex and a huge bottle of flux and sprayed it all over everything in the whole space , including my studio mates stuff. they ruined books and some artwork (maybe in attempt to cover up fingerprints ) it made such a toxic , sticky mess to clean ..

i can’t help but fixate on the things i should have done differently, why didn’t i like leave my materials in a safe? why didn’t i bring my valuables home ? for a long time i was bringing all my inventory back and forth to home but i just began to feel so safe in there. it’s a very far removed private studio. so, now they’ve also taken my sense of safety.

this sweet piece reminds me of spring. Growing up in Vermont, spring was always my favorite season . There was a fresh, hopeful, excited, creative , and curious energy in the air . After the cold and dark the contrast was always so vivid . It’s a little less noticeable here in California but i still love honoring the way that our minds and bodies move through seasonal cycles 🌱

✨Raffle for immigrant advocacy ✨

here’s some details again about the raffle i’m doing! thanks for everyone who has contributed so far . we’ve raised just over $200 for the CHIRLA organization, let’s keep going ! read on to find out more !

i made this orange kyanite and black marcasite pyrite to represent the colors of a monarch butterfly- a symbol of hope and resilience, used in immigrant rights advocacy to promote the message of humanity and safety to those migrating.

let’s raise some money to support immigrants. All proceeds donated to me will go directly to the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights (chirla)
