Thought we would take a minute to let everyone know that we are doing a Back to School Collection for the children at Strengthen Our Sisters, a local shelter for battered women and their children.
There are currently 9 school aged children in the shelter. The ages of the boys are 5, 5, 6 and 12. The ages of the girls are 6, 8, 11, 11 and 16.
There are also a group of children who are not quite school age yet, but attend a daycare program that could also use some new, creative back to school supplies.
Suggested items include lunch boxes, backpacks, binders, binder paper, construction paper, composition notebooks, folders, pencil boxes or pouches, pens, pencils, markers, highlighters, index cards, sticky notes, glue sticks, crayons, coloring books and practice work books.
In addition to the above, we are also collecting new socks for the children as they are often needed and it would be nice for them to start the school year off with new ones.
All donations may be dropped off at our store anytime between now and Saturday, August 22nd.
