ROMANROCKS HOLLAND HAPPENING DAY TWO!  it was another beautiful day in Oak Harbor. It was made even more fun and beautiful by so many marathon runners wearing happy blue shirts covered with tulips. Almost enough to make me wanna run a marathon next year.
Lots of new fun friends again and lots of excited customers thrilled to see RomanRocks Jewelry and the huge variety of Earrings!

One of Roman‘s favorite things to do is to match the theme with his jewelry… For example, he has a whole bunch of spooky Earrings from the Harvest Moon festival, he has knights and Vikings and swords and fairies for the Renaissance fairs, seafood, and ocean life galore for the sea feast, and beautiful handmade wooden shoe earrings for Holland happenings. You name the theme, and RomanRocks Jewelry will do their best to find earrings to match

What an amazing day we had in Oak Harbor yesterday. So many people coming through and loving and RomanRocks Jewelry and living lens photography!
It was fun to see friends from the past and meet friends from the future
Something new today is design your own wooden shoes earrings!
We have beautifully handmade wooden shoes in natural, red, yellow, and blue. Some of them have tulip designs that we put on them already, and others are ready for you to choose the design that we will put on for you anything from a tulip to a rainbow to a smiley face to your name, etc..

 What to do on a drizzly day? Come to Skagit, fairgrounds where there’s over 200 vendors. You’ll find RomanRocks Jewelry and living lens photography in the sheep building F.

RomanRocks Jewelry will be at the Skagit fairgrounds, garage sale and vendor event this weekend. We will be setting up all day tomorrow, Thursday the ninth.
The sale itself is on Friday and Saturday. There is a fee to get in.
Uou wont believe how many awesome garage sales and vendors there are at this crazy, crazy fun event

Meanwhile, Roman and I have spent the day at the hospital ER with suspected appendicitis, which thankfully turned out to be a kidney stone. We will not have to have surgery for him tonight, but he is going to be pretty sore for the next few days.

If anybody wants to come help us set up or take down, we would appreciate it! We will pay you in Jewelry

Does RomanRocks make all the necklaces?

Yes, and no. How’s that for an answer?

YES
Roman does string several necklaces using beads and his own creative mind. He loves creating patterns and thinking about the people who will be buying his beautiful necklaces. Sadly, he’s had to slow down on this due to the cost of beads.
Often when he uses the beautiful crystal beads he sells the finished necklace at a loss of five dollars a necklace so they are not made as often as before.

YES
Being the type who loves to make, sometimes some necklaces are created using nature made pendants such as seashells and rocks and fun ropes, twine, and strings. These help with his creative outlet.

YES
Something new to RomanRocks is adding a personal touch to existing pendants and earring charms through hand painting color.

NO
And sometimes, Roman shares the works of others.

Does Roman make all the earrings for RomanRocks Jewelry?
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!
Roman loves making jewelry and has for over 20 years. He makes them with beads, he makes them with charms, he makes them with toys, he makes them with random objects he finds.
But yes, he makes all the Earrings.
Sometimes he takes charms and just ads a hook.
Other times he gets charms and adds beads and a hook.
No matter which kind of earring he makes, he indeed makes them all. He also is very careful to make sure that all of his earring hooks are nickel free, which takes care of most allergies.

Sadly, sometimes people don’t understand the effort that Roman does put into making his jewelry.
And believe me, it takes effort for him to do these things. With his disabilities, banging around in his head and his hands, it takes a lot of effort. But he does it. He does it because he loves it. And he does it because he loves making other people happy.

So while we miss out on some events because people feel that he’s being a vendor selling other people‘s Earrings, please know that he makes all his earrings.

I guess in a way, it’s the same as saying that the person who’s selling crocheted items needs to gather their own wool and spin it into yarn in order to claim that they made the whole thing.

Roman takes parts and makes a whole

If you know any events looking for a lot of fun earrings, please let us know. We’re trying to fill our calendar.
It’s Roman’s main profession at this time and the January through March lack of events has really caused a financial pinch.

RomanRocks Jewelry and living lens photography will be at the Marysville Gresham high school on Saturday from 10 to 3. You’ve got to come see all our new stuff. This is the furthest south we’ve ever been with all our wares so we hope to see some of our “southern“ Puget sound friends
(The bizarre is open Friday evening as well, but we we’re not able to sign up in time for that).
