People often ask me why I love scarves so much. The truth is, for me, a scarf is more than just an accessoryโit carries echoes of my past.
A scarf is a small sareeโฆ or maybe a saree is just a very long scarf!
I grew up in India wearing half-sarees, and later, in college, sarees became my everyday outfitโit was even mandatory in my rather conservative college. But truth be told, I was more of a blue-jeans-and-Madras-check-shirt kind of tomboy. Feeling stylish back then meant overalls and pedal pushers.
Now, years later, I find myself longing for the wraparound warmth of a saree. Living here, Iโve found my balance: a scarf looped a few times around my neck with jeans and a tee makes me feel both here and there at once.
Do scarves carry memories for you tooโof places, people, or times in your life? When you wrap yourself in a scarf, think of it as wrapping yourself in a storyโฆ Whatโs your scarf story? Share it with us in the comments ๐ฅฐ
