The reason I started taking collagen isn’t the reason I still take it.

Years ago, I started taking it because my joints hurt.

At the time, I wasn’t thinking about skin, beauty, or healthy aging. I just wanted to be more comfortable moving through my day

Over time, I noticed benefits for my skin too.

But after being diagnosed with osteoporosis, I started learning more about bone health and how important collagen actually is to the structure of our bones.

That was eye-opening.

These days, when I think about healthy aging, I’m thinking about:
• Strength
• Bone density
• Muscle
• Mobility
• Staying independent

For me, collagen isn’t about chasing younger-looking skin.

It’s one part of a much bigger strategy to support the life I want to keep living.

That’s what aging strong means to me.

I don’t always feel like working out!

There, I said it.

Some mornings I’d rather stay home with a cup of coffee and a good book.

But at this stage of life, I’ve realized something:

I don’t exercise because I love exercise.

I exercise because I love what it allows me to do.

I love hiking in places I never thought I’d see.
I love spending time with my family.
I love working in my garden.
I love knowing that I’m doing what I can today to stay strong, capable, and independent tomorrow.

That’s what “Age by Design” means to me.

What about you?

Why do you keep showing up for your health? 💜

I’m not chasing perfection.
And I’m not obsessed with living forever.

What I am trying to do is avoid the belief that decline is just inevitable once we get older.

I don’t believe getting weaker, frailer, and less independent has to be the automatic end game for every woman after 50.

That’s why I lift weights.
Why I walk.
Why I prioritize protein, recovery, sleep, and yes… supplements that support me as I age.

Not to become some perfectly optimized version of myself.

I just want to stay capable.
Strong enough to participate in my own life.
Strong enough to keep my freedom, my mobility, and my choices for as long as possible.

To me, that’s what aging strong really means. ❤️

Getting diagnosed with osteoporosis changed the way I think about aging.

It made me realize I didn’t want to spend the next 20 years getting smaller, weaker, or more fragile. I had watched my mother struggle through it and it was not what I wanted for my future.

That was the moment I started focusing less on simply “staying thin”… and more on building strength.

Now I think differently about:
Protein.
Muscle.
Mobility.
Recovery.
Bone health.
Even the supplements I choose to support my body.

Lifting weights has become part of my life.
Walking matters more.
And yes, adding collagen into my daily routine became one more way I try to support healthy aging from the inside out.

Because I want to stay active, independent, and fully engaged in my life for as long as possible.

That’s what “aging by design” means to me now. ❤️
