I'm not much of an animal print person, so I wasn't sure if I'd even enter anything in this week's contest. But I was playing around with leopard spots, adding different fills and backgrounds, when this idea sprang almost fully formed into my mind, not at all what I'd even been doing before. After I finished my main entry pattern and the background floral, I threw in a few actual tigers for a mini-collection.

My Boutique Nouveau collection - the second slide is my entry for the 1970s design challenge.

I grew up in the 70s when everything was Burnt Orange, Harvest Gold, and Avocado Green, and those are still some of my least favorite colors. But that wasn't the only thing going on then, and I decided to take my inspiration from the hippie-nouveau fashion boutiques like Biba, which featured moody colors and glamorous art nouveau and art deco-flavored designs.

My Summer Bee Garden pattern for the cottagecore design challenge. The Elizabeth Bonte brooch in the top left corner on the second slide is what started it all off, and for once the finished design is very close to my original imagining.

For this week's Palm Springs challenge, I wanted to do something reminiscent of the prints that were worn in its 60s heyday, using iconic images of the time. So we've got palm trees and cacti and breeze blocks, of course, plus big plastic beads and big teased hair.

I suppose I'd better post this while the contest is still running, so here's my entry for the Toile with a Twist.

I was going to enter the pink and black version, but the gold and brown one got a lot more likes in the days before the voting started, so I switched them, even though I'm so not an earth tones person. Other people are, and that's why I give them the option.

"Deco on Safari", my entry for the current Art Deco design challenge. I made the original of this design in full color a year or two ago, but was never quite satisfied with it. I redrew some of the elements, made it monochrome, and tweaked some bits here and there to come up with this version.

My entry for the Pet Doodles challenge. I was going for a mid-century illustration kind of vibe with this one. I love birds, and I love the look of antique birdcages, but I'm not a fan of birds IN cages, so if you look you'll see all the cage doors are open.

Another older pattern that I tweaked just a bit. This one is called Redbud Winter, after the Redbud trees that are just about to finish blooming here. It's a small- scale design (because the blossoms are very small) that I think would be great for quilting or other crafts.

Big thanks to the customer who bought 10 rolls of my Queen Anne's Lace wallpaper from , plus 2 yards of the same print in the Petal Cotton!
This is one of my earliest designs, and it's nice to see it again.

My Dogwood collection for the Floral Block Print challenge. It's appropriate, since I think we're on to dogwood winter here, though it's hard to tell what with the wind and rain and floods we've been having. Still, it's beautiful today, if cold.
For this one, I carved a small linoleum block with a quarter of the design, printed it once, then played around with it digitally, rearranging it in different ways and isolating bits of it and making new patterns from them.

This was the test print for the linoleum block I carved for this week's Spoonflower Block Print challenge. Do you see the eyes? 👀
I swear I never do this on purpose, but it happens kind of a lot when I draw.

I really hadn't planned to do a new Easter pattern, but here we are. Every bit of this one came from my sketchbooks, resized, recolored, mixed together, and rearranged.
