Somehow, this jar of Maa Ka Achar, ā€œmother’s pickleā€, feels like the perfect reminder of all the quiet love mothers pour into a family every single day. Being back close to my birthplace and memories of my own mother make this especially emotional for me. While I miss my children and husband deeply this Mother’s Day, moments like this remind me how love is often carried through food, traditions, and the little things we almost take for granted until we are older. Today I’m celebrating all mothers — for the meals, the healing, the sacrifices, the invisible labor, and the endless ways they nourish their families and communities.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the beautiful mothers everywhere. šŸ¤

Mundgod, a Tibetan settlement in South India where I grew up, holds countless memories of my early childhood. Every time I return, I experience an overwhelming sense of joy and happiness, breathing the same air and revisiting the same place, even for just a few days. I feel such gratitude for having this special place to call a second home, a shared memory, and a common purpose for our future and humanity. Thank you to everyone who has contributed to making this place what it is. May it continue to thrive and endure, even as many elders pass on. I hope we can carry forward their hard work and the value of life by making it better, connecting with, and supporting each other.

Traveling has been a constant source of inspiration for me. Despite visiting for many years, I continually discover new and exciting craft communities and skilled makers. I am grateful to have met incredible people along the way who have taught me valuable lessons and touched my heart deeply. Their life’s work encourages me to slow down and appreciate the hands behind each creation, the stories behind the people, and their craft made with care and intention.

Today’s life feels like a fast current of information and technology, where everything is within reach, yet we’re constantly searching for something more real to hold onto. I seek out what remains rooted in craft, culture, food, and genuine human connection, elements that stem from a more natural way of living.

My journey in Bangkok, Thailand, has been about learning, listening, and quietly gathering stories. Surprisingly, I have come here to learn about my own history of our cultural heritage. Engaging in small conversations with local people has revealed their core values, kindness, respect, and genuine hospitality. Their humble, peaceful approach to making things by hand was especially restorative. Watching artisans work with such calm and grace creates a peaceful environment all around.

Bringing back those meaningful experiences.
More to come… šŸ¤

In the heart of Majnu ka Tila, these walls are speaking.

Created by local artists and children of the Tibetan community, this street has become a living canvas, holding stories of exile, identity, and quiet resistance. Each piece carries something deeper: memory, longing, resilience… and also hope.

What moved me most was not just the art itself, but the way people stopped, in the middle of a busy, noisy street, paused, asked questions, took it in, a moment of connection in the rush of daily life.

Art like this keeps culture alive. It gives voice where words are often not enough. It invites all of us to witness, to learn, and to feel a shared humanity.

Grateful to see how the community, especially the younger generation, continues to carry these stories forward, with courage and creativity.
