Handmade is greater than computer generated.
My husband told me something that made me so mad this weekend. He said one of the techno-crooks said that AI would take over all human labor leaving billions out of work. I don't remember who he was quoting but another one of them put out a statement disputing this pretty quick to save face and PR.
This statement made me so mad for several reasons but the main and immediate recation was this. There are more jobs in the world than that which can be done with AI. My job can not be done with AI because by its very nature it is the antithesis of it. Most small business is the antithesis of it. We exist because of the human face behind it. Can a restaurant or shop be run by AI, maybe, but other than novelty would anyone want to go there?
I think most tech people forget about the world outside of their little bubble 🫧. AI is a tool that can be used to speed up menial tasks or organize data (I still have not found either to be useful in my business by the way) but it can never replace the parts of work that are inherently human, the parts people enjoy. Like creating, designing, inventing, discovering... Why would we want to replace that work anyway?
As it stands now despite the tech world trying to force AI down our throats I don't use any of it. I even disabled Gemini on my phone because it kept pi***ng me off and responing with wrong answers or when no one was talking. I dont use it to write listing text, edit photos, pricing, marketing, not even accounting (which I really hate). Its all me all the time, baby! And its gonna stay that way. 😉
