How lucky I was to have met Sharon in June of 2018. We were both attending the ASJRA conference in Boston. She came over to me and complimented my necklace and earrings and was interested in where I had studied Goldsmithing and how I came to love Etruscan and Renaissance jewelry. She was a fascinating conversationalist and shared her vast knowledge of jewelry. She was a striking woman, petite, yet bold. She commanded the room with her elegant style and unique, wardrobe and statement jewelry; Sharon was a force! It was a chance meeting over lunch that grew into a friendship, over the years. I had the honor of being interviewed for her podcast, not once, but twice. She visited in Chicago, for SOFA in 2019 and we spoke on the phone about exhibits, other art-jewelers, her amazing collection, and many things we shared since 2018. I was thrilled to introduce her to several jewelers to add to her podcast in the following years, she was always grateful to make a new jewelry connection. I marveled at her passion to travel to so many jewelry destinations around the globe. Covid really curtailed that, but allowed her to focus on her interviews. I will miss her ever-positive attitude, interesting insights into the jewelry world and wonderful spirit. Sharon was a trailblazer in the jewelry podcast landscape, what a gift she has left us with her hundreds of recordings . My deepest condolences to her family and friends! Many thanks to Elyse and Yvonne of ASJRA , without whom I may not have had the good fortune to know Sharon! We have lost a very special voice and enthusiastic spirit in the jewelry world and an all-around fantastic woman! RIP, my friend, you are missed!!!
