Had enough of the schlock Christmas music in stores, restaurants, elevators, etc.? GEMS is offering TWO concerts of unusual and beautiful music tomorrow, Thursday, Dec 21:

Concordian Dawn, one of the country's top medieval music ensembles, presents a program of medieval music for the season in gorgeous arrangements for their 6-part ensemble.

Chivalrous Crickets' program, anchored around six arrangements from Esprit Philippe Chédeville's collection of Christmas folk melodies in 1730s Paris, Nouveau recueil de Noëls, leads audiences on a rambling, wassail-filled journey through villages of France, Ireland, England, Scotland, and America while exploring the tunes and traditions of Celtic Yuletide from the quiet first day of Winter to the raucous Twelfth Night.

BOTH CONCERTS are at St. Malachy's Church, 239 West 49th Street (between 8th and Broadway). Concordian at 1:15, admission free; Crickets at 7:30, admission $10-45.

The Concordian Dawn concert will also be LIVE STREAMED on our website (www.midtownconcerts.org) at 1:15 pm. Note that the technical issues with our streaming have been fixed!!
