Vanderbilt published their fall 2025 Greek life GPA report, and the Panhellenic numbers are strong.
Every NPC chapter on campus finished above the all-women’s average of 3.697. Not the top chapters—all nine. The Panhellenic average came in at 3.818. The IFC average was 3.725.
Seven of nine sorority chapters hit a 3.8 or higher. Three of those topped the highest-ranked fraternity on campus, which finished at 3.828.
The fraternity numbers were also above the all-school average.

When a Potential New Member (PNM) registers for sorority recruitment, there’s an option to list a legacy relation—a sorority member who’s your mother, grandmother, or sister (more details on who qualifies in our blog post on legacy policies - link in bio.)

But sorority chapters don’t just take that at face value. The sorority headquarters maintains a record of every member ever initiated (or at least as far back as then can!), and when an application comes in, a chapter member or advisor from that school checks. Either through an intranet or by contacting inter/national headquarters directly.
So when a PNM applies for recruitment, it’s important to include their legacy relation’s full, initiated name (which might not be her current name), her chapter and date of initiation because that’s what the sorority’s going to look up. They’re not jerks about it, though— if the name doesn’t show up on the first search, they’ll dig around a bit and maybe ask other alumna members of that chapter to help verify.

Alabama has the largest Greek system in the country—over 11,000 students—but that’s only 35% of their student body. There are schools where sorority recruitment pulls in a bigger share of campus, and some of them are not the names you’d expect.
DePauw University has about 2,300 students total and 69% of them are in Greek life. Washington and Lee is at 76%—and it used to be 90%.
Greek participation percentages are self-reported by schools and based on the percentage of eligible students—so not a perfect science, but directionally accurate. We pulled from university websites and verified sources.
If your school should be on this list, drop it in the comments.

Director of Public Relations means campaigns with measurable outcomes, a public-facing social presence, and pitching press coverage to real media outlets—that’s an entry-level PR job description. The title just happens to say sorority. If you held this role and did the work, you have deliverables, media results, and cross-functional experience that belong in full bullet points, not buried in an activities section.

Best thing I heard last weekend: a sorority ring ritual I learned about on a Zoom. Crystal, (former international president of AOII!), shared: every morning she puts her sorority ring on upside down and keeps it that way until she’s done one kind thing for someone else. Then she flips it. It’s not her original idea but i’m giving her credit for passing it on.

I love an alumna who wars letters every day, and does it in a way that really means something. That’s why I started mazi + zo. ALAM, Crystal. 🌹

P.s. follow for quick etiquette tips!

We make personalized sorority rings and more for 21 NPC sororities. Every ring, necklace, and earring is handmade in NYC using solid 14k gold or .925 sterling silver. mazi + zo is a sorority-woman-owned small business.

The sorority bid day gift basket thing is one of the most impressive (and underrated) operations in Greek life. A PNM gets her bid at 1pm, runs home to her new sorority at 1:30pm, and there’s already a personalized basket waiting — from parents. How did they do that?? At some schools, Panhellenic sends parents a flyer during recruitment with local shops to check out — parents pre-order by price point, no sorority needed. Then after matching, those same shops get the bid list before the PNMs do. They’re up all night sorting, assembling, and delivering to every house in time for run home. At Alabama alone, that’s 2,400 new members across 19 sororities. Even a fraction of that is hundreds of baskets delivered by 1pm. It’s an operation! We wish we could deliver our jewelry just as fast, but our jewelry doesn’t work that way— it’s made to last a lifetime, so what’s a few more days??

If you were a recruitment round chair, you weren’t “helping with a theme.” You were running a large, time-constrained event with a real budget and a big team.
That kind of experience translates directly to roles in operations, project management, marketing, and events—you just have to name it correctly.
Most people undersell this role on their resume. Don’t.
We post these every week; check our pinned post for what’s done and what’s coming up!

When people think of sorority life, they think of college.
But the underrated part is alumnae life. There are actually more alumnae chapters than collegiate ones—so wherever you are, there’s a built-in community.
That can look like a standing happy hour you can drop into, someone who flags an opening at their company or a nice undermarket apartment that comes up, an extra ticket to the game, a referral to a great dermatologist, or even a last-minute holiday invite.
It’s the same “we show up for each other” thing we had in college—just with more experience, more valuable networks, and better food.
College is four years. Sorority is for life.

If you’re going through sorority recruitment this fall, there’s one person in the process who
is entirely, 100% on your side — and we’re not talking about not your mom!
Have you heard someone say “Rho Chi” but aren’t totally sure what she does — or why she matters, this one’s for you. A rho chi (or gamma chi, or pi chi) is a recruitment counselor who helps potential new members go through recruitment. She covers logistics and rules stuff like “What time should I get there?” and is also there for support and advice if things get stressy. She’s actually an active sorority member who agrees to step away from her chapter before rush so she can be an impartial advisor and she’s not allowed to share any of your business with her chapter. She’ll hype you up or give you a hug, we love the rho chis!

Our minimalist Kappa Alpha Theta ring looks simple, but it took a lot to get there.
We started with a closed version—too tight, too crowded. Decided to try an open ring style.
Then came the question: where does it open? There were a lot of choices.
The trickiest part was Theta. If it’s too horizontal, it actually loses the theta and looks like a circle and a line.
We also explored adding the kite, but adding a fourth element pushed the Kappa out of view when worn.

So many iterations! We love the final design and Thetas do, too!

Handmade to last in solid 14k gold or pure .925 sterling silver. Available in three sizes: S (4-5), M(6-7), L(8-9) and in .925 sterling silver or solid 14k gold. Sorority-woman-owned small business.
