Ruby was July and Sapphire is September.

Here is the secret: they are the same mineral!
Corundum, both of them together aluminum and oxygen, born under heat and pressure makes sapphire and ruby. A whisper of chromium makes a ruby while Iron and titanium make a blue sapphire.

Everything else in between of colors like the peach, the teal, the violet, the gold is still sapphire… Every color but red, that’s ruby.

That is what keeps pulling me back to this stone as it refuses to be one color and is an array of colors.

My favorites are the Parti or bi-color sapphires... This is where two or more colors are held inside a single stone such as blue running into gold or yellow easing toward green. I have never met two that were the same, and I have never met a person who was, either.

And it’s a 9 on the Mohs scale, hard enough for a ring you’ll never take off aka your engagement ring.

The crispness is felt in the air, the tail end of summer is here, and the promise of fallen leaves is so exhilarating! 🍁🍂We’re entering autumn soon and it’s officially spooky 👻 season!

Time to pull out my black sweaters, set up the Halloween decor, and cozy up reading from the never ending list of books to read with a cozy cup of pumpkin spice anything & everything under a blanket. So excited to embark on hikes where the leaves are yellow beneath my feet and it feels like a fairytale portal could open up at any moment. That’s where inspiration is born from ✨🗝️😂

Congratulations to Adelyn & Kait on your engagement! 💖

Adelyn proposed picnic-style, under their favorite tree in their favorite park. A friend invited Kait out on a walk while Adelyn was “at work” and the surprise held completely. ✨

The only thing that raised an eyebrow all week? Adelyn being very adamant about getting nails done. 💅

Later that day they celebrated with friends at a le***an drag show at The Back Door, a beloved local spot in Bloomington. The day after that was Pride where they both got to line dancing as fiancées.

The ring celebrates their love with a stunning pink oval diamond, held among moon phases, stars, and the sun.

Every element says something true about them as they are each other’s sun and moon, each other’s whole world and cosmos. That’s exactly what this ring was made to carry.🌙☀️

More professional photos are on the way, but I couldn’t wait to share.
