I haven’t posted much recently, and I rarely share personal asks, but this one is deeply personal. My work has always been about creating pieces that are personal and carry meaning. But more than any gem I’ve ever worked with, my children are the most precious things in my life.

My daughter, Michaella, is entering her senior year of high school and has created a GoFundMe to help cover the remaining tuition so she can return to school next week and graduate this spring. She’s a passionate student and artist, and this community means the world to her—and to us.

If you’d like to learn more or help spread the word, here’s the link:

Thank you—from both of us—for being part of our circle. Your support, encouragement, and kindness mean more than you know. ❤️

Exciting Announcement! I am thrilled to share that I have been invited to speak at Harvard University on sustainability and the future of the jewelry industry. This event is a collaborative effort between three influential leaders in the industry: Melanie C Grant of Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), Susan Jacques of GIA (Gemological Institute of America) Institute of America (GIA), and Dr. Raquel Alonso-Perez, Ph.D., FGA of The Mineralogical and Geological Museum, Harvard University (MGMH).

While academia and technology have been at the forefront of sustainability efforts, the jewelry industry is still evolving in terms of policies, standards, and actionable solutions. It is essential to recognize that without the human component, all these advancements cannot be sustained. Environmental activist Vandana Shiva wisely said, "TREAT THE KNOWLEDGE SYSTEMS OF LOCAL AND TRIBAL COMMUNITIES AS FUTURISTIC, NOT AS PRIMITIVE." It is through remembering our roots that we can shape a healthier future that uplifts humanity.

In my work, I am dedicated to integrating sustainability into every aspect by infusing mindfulness principles inspired by my training in meditation and yoga. Known for bespoke services and sought-after limited edition pieces, I am deeply passionate about driving positive change. I actively advocate for collaborative global initiatives, combining design expertise with an unwavering commitment to sustainability. One of my most recent collaborations with Niger's first lady and the Noor Foundation and the Arca Foundation is focused on preserving the traditional jewelry work of the Tuareg people in the Journey's Collection. This project serves as a testament to the critical role of culture in achieving SDG 11: inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable cities, to promote economic growth, diversify economies, strengthen identity, create jobs, and foster community inclusion.

I feel privileged to participate in this event alongside inspiring industry leaders and fellow colleagues and continue my deep committed to serving for the future of our planet.

I extend a warm invitation to you to join me at the Harvard Business School Auditorium on June 23, 2023 for an enlightening discussion on how the jewelry industry can drive sustainable practices.

Don't miss out on this incredible opportunity, get ready to gain valuable insights, explore innovative approaches, and discover actionable strategies for a responsible and equitable future.

Dear fellow mothers around the world,

As you celebrate Mother's Day, I want to take a moment to honor and appreciate each and every one of you. And while it’s Mother’s Day today, let us not just accept focus on this one day to show our appreciation.

This past year has been incredibly challenging for me, and I know that many of you have also faced your own unique struggles. While I have been going through traumatic and emotionally draining divorce, I know that each of you have had your own share of challenges - from homeschooling to working from home, losing loved ones or starting an new job, all while trying to keep your emotional stability and families safe and healthy during a global pandemic. It has been exhausting, and at times, overwhelming. Yet, through it all, we have continued to show strength, resilience, and an unwavering devotion to our families.

Mother's Day is a beautiful way to celebrate our essence of care and motherhood but it should not be a pretend make up for the neglect and lack of appreciation we may have shown throughout the year. Let's make a genuine effort to celebrate and appreciate each other every day.

NO MORE using Mother's Day as a way to appease and pacify mothers for the rest of the year. No more buying gifts or sending cards on Mother's Day to compensate for neglect and lack of appreciation throughout the year. No more expecting mothers to be content with one day of recognition when they deserve to be celebrated every day.

NO MORE pretending. No more sacrificing your own happiness. No more settling for anything less than genuine, authentic, and mutually fulfilling love. Let's celebrate and appreciate mothers every day. No more pretending that everything is okay when it's not.

NO MORE sacrificing your own happiness for the sake of keeping up appearances. No more accepting half-hearted apologies or promises that are never kept. No more stinginess and negetivity. No more ignoring red flags and warning signs just to avoid being alone. No more settling for someone who doesn't truly love and respect you.

NO MORE staying in a relationship just because it's comfortable or familiar. No more playing the role of the "perfect partner" to keep the other person happy. No more suppressing your own needs and desires to please someone else. No more accepting a love that is conditional or based on your ability to meet their needs.

NO MORE being afraid to speak your truth and stand up for yourself. No more accepting disrespect or mistreatment in the name of love. No more feeling like you have to change who you are to be loved or accepted. No more feeling like you are not enough or unworthy of love and affection. No more settling for anything less than genuine, authentic, and mutually fulfilling love.

NO MORE financial abuse or control from a husband. No more being made to feel guilty for spending money on basic necessities. No more being forced to account for every penny spent. No more having to ask permission to spend money on things that are important to you or your children. No more being threatened with financial consequences for standing up for yourself or your children. No more being denied access to your own money or financial resources.

NO MORE being made to feel inferior or incapable simply because you are a woman.

Today I wish to invite you to join me in my commitment to my self and to you to speak our truth, stand up for ourselves, for our daughters and for their future daughters and get the love and respect we deserve. It’s about time… to be nothing but YOU!

I prepared a short video for your inspiration. ( Please watch all the way through… )

What is your NO MORE?

Authentically yours,
Alexandra

* If you or someone you know is struggling in a toxic relationship, there are resources available to help. It's important to remember that you are not alone and that you deserve to live a life that is free from fear and harm. We must continue to support and uplift each other.

“I no longer have patience for certain things, not because I’ve become arrogant, but simply because I reached a point in my life where I do not want to waste more time with what displeases me or hurts me. I have no patience for cynicism, excessive criticism and demands of any nature. I lost the will to please those who do not like me, to love those who do not love me and to smile at those who do not want to smile at me. I no longer spend a single minute on those who lie or want to manipulate. I decided not to coexist anymore with pretense, hypocrisy, dishonesty and cheap praise. I do not tolerate selective erudition nor academic arrogance. I do not adjust either to popular gossiping. I hate conflict and comparisons. I believe in a world of opposites and that’s why I avoid people with rigid and inflexible personalities. In friendship I dislike the lack of loyalty and betrayal. I do not get along with those who do not know how to give a compliment or a word of encouragement. Exaggerations bore me and I have difficulty accepting those who do not like animals. And on top of everything I have no patience for anyone who does not deserve my patience. “

ABOUT ALEXANDRA MOR

Haute joaillerie designer and Artistic director Alexandra Mor designs for the modern woman who is focused on building one-of-a-kind jewelry collections. Each piece is handcrafted by master artisans and created with design sensibility found among Place Vendôme jewelers, as seen worn on the red carpet by Oprah, Olivia Palermo, Beyonce, Kate Winslet, Naomi Campbell, Lupita Nyong'o, Mila Kunis, Demi Moore, Brooke Shields, among others.

Drawn from a lifelong commitment to women and the art of storytelling, Alexandra finds inspiration from her client's personal relationships and strength to create unique pieces that are a true reflection of the individual. Her work and personal philosophy and professional inspiration find a stunning balance with the superior craftsmanship of her limited-edition and one-of-a-kind signature Collection. Each piece from this collection is handcrafted in NYC and LA by master artisans and created with an attention to detail and design sensibility typically found among Place Vendôme jewelers. Mor’s work is distinguished by signature details of knife-edged wire and yellow gold interior lining designed to bring out the finest qualities of Diamonds and rare, exceptional gemstones.

Alexandra grew up in Israel’s multicultural mélange, and from a young age was exposed to the concept of handcrafted design by her French couturier mother. Always drawn toward the creative realm, Alexandra initially pursued a career as a filmmaker. However it was in 2004, during a jewelry bench class, that she found her true passion and career calling. After years of work developing her signature design philosophy, Alexandra launched her first collection at Phillips de Pury. After spending a decade in New York City working on her signature collections, Alexandra moved to the island of Bali, Indonesia to search for new inspiration and spiritual connection. Crossing the threshold from the frenetic economic center of New York City to the fertile, lush environment of Bali, the journey was a call to adventure, one that looked toward an inner compass of self reflection, social consciousness and sustainable luxury.

The brand’s Signature Collection and Bespoke pieces hold a unique aesthetic and is coveted among jewelry collectors in the US and internationally, designed at Alexandra’s design offices in New York City’s famed Diamond District and, more recently, inspired to create her new first of it's kind, Tagua Seeds collection with local artisans in Bali, Indonesia. Alexandra Mor limited-edition and one-of-a-kind jewelry pieces are made in the USA, Bali and Laos.
