What say we, my fellow obsessives? , yay or nay? Just received this from a lovely seller in California who was very honest about thinking it *looked* like - as it does! in every particular! from the component findings to the craftsmanship to the eclectic but superbly balanced selection of harmonious literal oddballs in every mouthwatering hue of the rainbow, and every kind of imaginable! - but not being 100% certain because of two things: the lack of a signature, and an apparent dearth of similar . And those same factors are also stumping _me_, because in my experience Dweck was scrupulous about signing his work, albeit sometimes in unexpected places, and had a tendency to reference and call back his own polyglot visual vocabulary of shapes, and while he’s done aplenty, none I’ve seen elsewhere have used this particular combination of elements. So what say you? AmI missing some obvious nook or cranny that could be hiding a signature? Was this design used in some early collection I’m simply ignorant of? Help a gal out and weigh in: this one’s for my personal collection, so it’s not a hugely pressing question, but I do so like to _know_!!

Today’s the first day this week that the sun’s come out, however briefly, so I finally got a chance to take some photos of my new pride’n’joy, : one of my dearest friends had observed my admiration for it, and gave it to me as an incredibly thoughtful, incredibly generous Divorce Present. I love this thing Beyond Reason, both for the association, and just because … bruh, it’s The Most Beautiful Ring in the World, at least in my eyes. Pics just don’t do it justice.

Y’all might recall my ferociously cheery little (“little”) , whom I adopted as a and adorned with a , yes? Well, now he has a friend, who comes equipped with a pearl. I rather like the idea of having a chorus line of the l’il guys!

Would anybody happen to know from when they hail? Neither, alas, comes bearing hallmarks, and while I’ve come across a few others over the course of the years, they tend to bear rather broad descriptions. Would anybody happen to know when specifically they would have been in fashion? They have a rather ‘50s/‘60s feel in terms of construction, but that’s as much gut instinct as anything else.

I’ve seen versions from , , .., almost all the great Florentine silversmiths. They seem to have been all the vogue. One thing I *haven’t* been able to discover is what started the fad, and whether it had any specific significance. Anybody out there happen to have to share?
