What are you up to this afternoon? Here at chez Shop Megan Want, I just finished prepping a big batch of savory pumpkin soup, and now I am working on some new fringies for this year’s winter markets! I always love to throw a few holiday themed items in the mix, because personally, I love a festive handmade piece to jazz up a plain jeans and a tee outfit.

Today, it was time for a spooky season refresh at New Hartford Artisan Guild (New Hartford Artisans Guild) ! Autumn is my fave and spooky season makes me so happy! You can still find year round pieces too, but I brought a ton of fun Halloween items, all hand made by me, bead by bead. Stitched with love. 🧡🖤💜💚

Heading over to the New Hartford Artisan Guild ( .ct ) to do a little refresh- Tons of fun new studs, summery pieces, and more! This weekend there is also an event right next to Hurley Business park- River Rocks. Food, music and fun! Lots to check out. ☀️🎶

This collection started as a color obsession in the middle of the night. Soft peach, glowing orange, warm cardinal, and earthy brown paired with sparkling Goldstone in handwoven pieces that feel warm, artistic, and endlessly wearable. The kind of jewelry that quietly transforms an outfit into something unforgettable.

Made this little (well, little by my standards) purple-and-lime bead embroidery pendant for my mom for Mother’s Day. We definitely have different jewelry and fashion styles, but she’s a huge part of why I love beads, color, crafts, and making things in the first place. She raised a very indoorsy little art kid with endless creative projects… and honestly, it worked.

I upcycled a tiny glass jar into a handmade gift, weaving embroidery floss in rich green tones and adding a matching beaded embellishment. To complete the set, I created coordinating earrings in shades of green and black.

Created as a gift for a dear friend who feels like sunshine, treasures nature, and reminds me that beauty and kindness belong everywhere. ☀️🌱

Several people have asked if I have any spring or Mother’s Day shows lined up.

I want to share that I don’t have anything booked for the near future, and I’ve had to decline some shows I really enjoy that I’ve participated in for years. Life is a bit hectic with my 9-5 job, my husband traveling often, and we just welcomed a fourth dog who requires a lot of attention.

However, I am always beading and creating more stuff!
I do have pieces available online and at the New Hartford Artisan’s Guild if you’d like to check them out!

And to everyone spending time with people they love this weekend, dressing up a little, sharing meals, thrifting, gardening, calling their mom, or simply trying to rest for once, I hope this weekend feels warm and meaningful in the smallest best ways. Thank you for being here.

I’ve always loved bold, colorful jewelry for one simple reason. It transforms everything. A basic jeans and tee combo suddenly feels like a full look the second you add a standout pair of earrings.

When I started making jewelry again a few years ago, I noticed the pieces became the focus of my outfits. Statement jewelry with something simple just works every time.

I do make more minimal pieces too, perfect for layering or pairing with more expressive outfits. But honestly, nothing hits quite like a bold piece that pulls everything together without even trying.
