BACKGROUND:
Pattie's Hope began over 10 years ago, before the name was ever thought of. From there, I created custom designs which evolved into one of a kind ornaments including the traditional and Victorian Christmas balls, sleighs, Christmas trees, bells, crosses, snow people, angels, stockings and sports designs. Over five years ago, the jewelry side began. I was asked to make Hope Bracelets fo
r my sister-in-law, whose father was dying of Cancer. As a result, I began making and selling stretch bracelets with Hope ribbons attached, which were designed by color to bring awareness and support to diseases and causes. A card was attached explaining what diseases/causes were represented by the color(s). This is when the name "Pattie's Hope" was established. Frequently, I was asked to make regular stretch bracelets without the ribbon and that evolved into anklets, earrings and necklaces. PATTIE’S HOPE MESSAGE
Today, Pattie's Hope means the same as it did when I created it, but I realized very quickly as I traveled my life's journey that it meant more to me than I originally thought. Two major things happened to me that broadened my view. As a child I was bullied and ridiculed for how I looked. I wore glasses, had really crooked teeth and was called "Crisco, fat in the can" and “thunder thighs” even though I wasn't. Those comments stayed with me through my life and made me believe I wasn't beautiful. As an adult, in 2013, I was diagnosed with three brain aneurysms. I underwent brain surgery in early 2014 where two of the three aneurysms were clipped. Now on top of believing I was ugly, now I had a huge scar on my head and other issues I couldn’t control. Both of these had a huge impact on my life. Believe it or not, wearing the jewelry I created, made me feel proud of who I am and what I’ve overcome. I wanted to share that with other women and children to help them believe that they are beautiful and special regardless of their imperfections. The name "Pattie's Hope" was created for the following reasons:
1. To bring HOPE to those suffering an illness
2. To bring AWARENESS that all of us suffer from issues or diseases, visible or not, disabling or not.
3. To bring HOPE and BELIEF to all women that they are BEAUTIFUL! No matter what other's think (or we think about ourselves) about our shape, size, look, mental status, physique, fashion, etc., every one of us is BEAUTIFUL! My belief is no one, including ourselves, has the right to say or think anything different. PRODUCTS & PRICE POINTS:
