Precious Turquoise and Coral - Exotic Jewelry Design

The one-of-a-kind necklace pictured was designed for a patron who sought an extraordinary gift. The individual wanted something both regal and exotic. After presenting various choices of gems - the client selected the combination of coral beads and a free form turquoise cabachon; to be set in a burnished 14 karat white gold bezel. Sculpted mermaids and shells
are incorporated into the bezel that holds the turquoise gemstone accented by petite freshwater pearls

Numerous sketches were created after which a wax model of the ornate bezel was carved and cast in the lost wax casting process. This was a challenging piece to develop and fabricate. Due to the nature of a one-of-a-kind piece, I am able to catalyze variations of the materials and the client's concept.

Ultimately, as the the artist, I am working to develop a final piece that not only is beautiful but fulfills the customer's vision. Jewelry of this nature is personal, artistic, durable, and meaningful.
