Offering here Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse ref. 3738/1 in 18k yellow gold, featuring a rare white dial signed by Tiffany & Co.

Introduced in 1968 and inspired by the Golden Ratio, the Ellipse embodies perfect balance and understated elegance, a quiet departure from traditional round watch design. Selling here Chopard L.U.C 16/1860/2 in yellow gold.

In the early 1990s, the Swiss watch industry was still recovering from the quartz crisis, and most brands relied heavily on outsourced movements from suppliers such as Valjoux, Lemania, and ETA. Few were willing to invest in true in-house development. Chopard took that risk. In 1993, with guidance from renowned independent watchmaker Michel Parmigiani, the brand began developing a proprietary movement. This effort culminated in 1996 with the creation of the L.U.C Manufacture and its debut model, the 16/1860.

The watch quickly earned widespread praise. Its in-house Calibre 1.96 was hailed by watch critic Walt Odets as “probably the finest automatic movement being produced in Switzerland today.” The level of finishing was exceptional for its time: a 22-carat engraved gold micro-rotor, beautifully polished bevels, and deep Côtes de Genève throughout. Even Philippe Dufour reportedly ranked Chopard second only to A. Lange & Söhne for finishing quality during that period.

The dial is produced by Metalem—the same maker behind the dial of the Simplicity from Philippe Dufour—and features a finely guilloché center framed by a restrained stepped design that catches the light beautifully.

As a whole, the 16/1860 embodies quiet refinement. Nothing about it feels ostentatious; instead, its appeal lies in its proportions, textures, and subtle details. With its elegant 37mm case and balanced design, the watch remains one of Chopard’s most overlooked references—and arguably one of the finest dress watches produced in its generation.

Vincent Calabrese “Vincent 2000” 36mm, Automatic – Stainless Steel
Circa 2000 | Full Set | Excellent Condition | Rare Wandering Jumping Hour

Vincent Calabrese, co-founder of the AHCI, is widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the wandering and jumping hour complication. The Vincent 2000 is among the earliest production wristwatches to showcase this display and is a conceptual predecessor to Calabrese’s later and highly successful Ottica line. Today, as wandering and jumping hour watches continue to grow in popularity, this model stands out as a historically important and highly collectible independent creation.

The dial is a masterclass in playful yet refined horological design. Time is displayed via a revolving disc with apertures for the wandering jumping hours, while minutes are indicated along the chapter ring. At the top of each hour, the numeral jumps instantly; every three hours, the display shows a letter corresponding to the cardinal points—M, T, S, and N—adding an additional layer of charm and originality. A central subsidiary seconds hand completes the layout. One of the most striking features is the patented optical illusion: thanks to the curved sapphire crystal and polished surfaces, the dial appears to disappear entirely when tilted beyond approximately 60 degrees, leaving what looks like a “black hole” at the center.

It represents a rare opportunity to acquire a historically significant independent watch from one of the true innovators of modern horology.

Franck Muller World Time Ref. 2800 HM 38 – 18K Pink Gold

Offered is a very fine and rare Franck Muller World Time wristwatch, reference 2800 HM 38, dating to the mid-1990s. Housed in a generously proportioned 38mm case crafted from 18K pink gold, this true neo-vintage piece exemplifies Franck Muller’s early mastery of technical complication and distinctive Genève design.

The polished case features elegantly curved lugs and a signature bi-directional revolving bezel engraved with the names of 24 world cities, enabling intuitive tracking of global time zones. Beneath a sapphire crystal, the silvered guilloché dial with matte accents is beautifully executed, featuring applied blued Roman numerals, blued steel Breguet hands, and a 24-hour world time ring that clearly distinguishes day and night hours. A discreet date aperture at 3 o’clock adds everyday practicality.

Powering the watch is an automatic movement based on the ETA 2892-2, rhodium-plated and finely decorated, fitted with an 18K gold oscillating weight. Celebrated for its reliability and slim architecture, this caliber ensures smooth and precise operation of the world time complication.

Produced in extremely limited quantities, this example is particularly noteworthy, bearing an early serial number 2, further underscoring its rarity and desirability among collectors. A highly sought-after neo-vintage configuration seldom encountered on the market.
