I’m gearing up for a massive week of clothes printing! And to make it more fun I decided I needed new designs! There has been a Ruby Crested Kinglet outside my window all week, and we’re homies now. If a bird ever displayed signs of ADHD it’s this guy 🤭 See something you like or have an idea you’d like to share? Please let me know in the comments!!! While I would totally love to hang out with my community and celebrate art, two things happened this week. 1. I overdid it. Too many shows,too many weeks in a row…and I was heading towards burnout FAST! 2. I was asked to watch my daughter’s dog for the week (which is my favorite activity in the world HANDS DOWN, and was perfect timing for needing to reset my nervous system).
I’m staying busy in between puppy cuddles and getting ready for the next THREE really big shows to close out the year. Lithia Ashland 11/27 through 11/29 🎄College of the Siskiyous 12/4 & 12/5 🎁 and Lithia Medford 12/18 through 12/20. Thanks for understanding! I’m so deeply honored to have my raven print chosen for the cover of the upcoming magazine issue of Mark Makers’ Quarterly! 🖤

As an artist, having my work recognized and celebrated in this way means more to me than I can say. Really, I’ve been thinking about how touching it is and how much of an emotional boost this has given me. I’m so grateful to the wonderful people behind Mark Makers’ Quarterly for believing in my work and giving my raven such a beautiful place to land. I can’t wait to hold this in my hand and see all of the other incredible printmakers and artists represented!

Come for a visit, shop one of a kind upcycled clothing, and join me for a little LIVE BLOCK PRINTING!

Bring your own light-colored garment and choose from a collection of my hand-carved designs. I’ll print them for you or help you to do it yourself!

LIVE PRINTING PRICES

* $5–$15 per image, depending on size
* SPECIAL: Up to 10 images for $25 (while supplies/ink lasts)

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW:

* Cotton and denim work beautifully!
* Light-colored garments with little or no pattern are best.
* Black ink only.
* One garment per person.
* Bring a hanger for easier transport.

I just finished this piece today, and realized that it has TWO “firsts”. (Size small and available) ❤️ It’s the first quilt block I’ve ever sewn (be ready for more) and it’s the FIRST block print I had ever carved! It was about 5 years ago, and after I did it she went away into a drawer and recently reappeared. My good friend Holly The Foundry Antiques gave me the idea of adding prints to a piece with patches. These patches have so much goodness poured into them! The fabric is recycled, and I dye it myself with a special technique developed by another dear friend Sara Ostrem. Most of the calico type border fabric is purchased from a hospice thrift store, and I print and sew them onto hand selected thrifted clothes. I love them, and I love making them. They made their first debut at the Apple Festival last weekend and you guys overwhelmed me with your support! So, let’s get sewing (and keep printing!)

I did a thing. 🫣 I bought a ridiculous amount of doll heads for an assemblage project I’ve been daydreaming about. Some of you may not know how much I love things that…verge on bizarre. 🖤😬👻 Even the unboxing of these lovelies brought me enough joy to justify the purchase! 🤗 Anyone want to come over for a sleepover?
