These Opals are sedimentary rocks formed at low temperatures from igneous rocks with a high silica content. They are volcanic stones found right on the edge of the sedimentary shelf where a chemical reaction between chloride and manganese hit the color spectrum and give the opal beautiful blue, green, and black colors. This is a young drying opal meaning it is also in a constant state of change depending on the environment it is in. It can change colors with time!

The process of creating a silver piece like this has several steps. I begin by mining the opal, cutting it in to what ever size I desire, and then turning the stone in to a cabochon. (A flat base and rounded top). Then I go through the silversmithing process of soldering, sanding, melting silver together, etc. It is truly a labor of love and the work always pays off in the end 💙✨ thanks for supporting my small biz, I work the product from literally the ground up and enjoy every step of the way.
