One of my passions in life is fly fishing and this is a sterling silver 2.5 inch brown trout hat pin that I made for a friend who shares that passion. I enameled the spots for a little extra color.

Another custom job in the books!
The customer supplied the diamonds and we supplied the white gold band. I set the main diamond into the band with a yellow gold bezel for added detail and set the remaining diamonds in descending order on either side with a bead of gold in between each for aesthetic and added security.

Interesting Item of the Month:
This is a solid sterling silver coronation medallion from the crowning of Kind George V and Queen Mary in 1911. It was made by the Royal Mint and designed by Bertram Mackennal, a prominent sculpture of the era. It comes in the original box and the details are fully intact!

Customer Highlight: I hand made this wedding set thirty years ago for a customer and no jeweler has touched it since. It was in desperate need of restoration and she brought it back to me. I was able to restore it and it should be good for another thirty years now!

I think it would be fun to do one post per month on what we think is the most recent exciting/interesting thing to coming into the shop. This month we want to highlight this beautiful 1895 Gorham sterling silver hand mirror! The detail of the repousse on this mirror is stunning! Repousse is an ancient metalworking technique where a malleable metal is hammered from the reverse side to create raised, three-dimensional relief designs on the front. Yes, this one has some wear and tear, but not bad for being over 131 years old!
