Downtown Reconnected: Join us for an Open House on Wednesday, August 26

In 2017, the City adopted the Downtown Small Area Plan, a shared vision for reinvestment in Downtown Monticello, created with public feedback from a Steering Committee, public meetings and engagement activities. The plan includes goals to improve Pine Street for all users, shift the center of Downtown to Broadway and Walnut Streets, encourage small and medium scaled investments and become a river town. Since then, Downtown has seen significant investment and redevelopment efforts.

Now, the City is developing an update to the plan – Downtown Reconnected – with a focus on strengthening the connection between the east and west sides of Downtown.

Community input is an essential part of the planning process. A Steering Committee of Downtown residents, business owners, property owners and City board and commission members has been established to guide the process, but we need your feedback to help shape this next chapter.

🏒💙 WE JUST NEED A FEW MORE HAVOC HOMES! 💙🏒

The Hudson Havoc season is almost here, and we’re down to needing just a few more amazing families in Hudson and the surrounding communities to open their homes to one of our players.

If you’ve been thinking about billeting but haven’t quite taken the leap yet… this might be your sign. 😊

Billeting is so much more than giving a hockey player a place to sleep. You’re welcoming a young man into your family, cheering him on throughout his season, and becoming part of an experience that often creates relationships that last long after the hockey season ends.

Billet families receive a $500 monthly stipend to help with expenses, along with home season tickets — but the best part is getting another kid to cheer for and becoming part of the Havoc family. 💙

You don’t need a fancy house or a “perfect” family. You just need a welcoming home, a bed, access to a bathroom and meals, and a willingness to make one of these players feel like he has a home away from home.

We are SO CLOSE to having homes for everyone. If you’ve wondered whether your family could do this, please reach out. I’m happy to answer absolutely any questions — there’s no obligation just for asking!

And if billeting isn’t possible for your family, sharing this post would mean the world to us. One share might be what connects one of our players with his Hudson family. 🏒💙

An Update from Classique Jewelry

Life doesn't always unfold the way we expect, and sometimes the best path forward is one reached together.

I'm grateful to share that I have reacquired Classique Jewelry and will once again be leading the business.

Over the past seven months, Tom and Melinda have poured their hearts into the store, and I want to publicly thank them for everything they've done. I'm incredibly grateful for the care they've shown our customers and for the friendship we've built throughout this journey.

After much thought and many conversations, we mutually agreed that this was the best decision for everyone involved due to changing family and personal circumstances.

This decision was made with mutual respect, appreciation, and a shared desire to do what was best for all of us.

Please join me in wishing Tom and Melinda nothing but success and happiness in whatever comes next. They have my sincere gratitude and support.

As for me, I'm excited to welcome everyone back as I continue the next chapter of Classique Jewelry.
