Jewelry in January, that’s what Venture Gallery calls this phenomenon. Sparkling crystals, luminous pearls, gems, gold, silver, fused glass – all these components, combined with the artistry of passionate jewelers creates a feast for the eyes, on exhibit through January in the gallery (260 Alvarado St., Monterey). For the month, Venture is highlighting its three jewelry artists. Lilly Campos creates fused glass with the colors of the sea; Vanessa Martin makes modern and classic designs featuring pearls, gems, gold and silver; Sandra Saldivar (whose work is shown above) creates dramatic yet classic designs using Austrian crystals, abalone and a variety of gems. Each artist creates necklaces, earrings and bracelets that are delicious “eye candy.”
