I have a couple more simple pieces coming to the shop. This sterling silver moonstone drop bracelet can be made to fit any size wrist. The matching necklace is 16” and looks great by itself but is also perfect to layer with other necklaces.

I’m still struggling to make consistent time for myself in the studio even though it fills me up when I create. There’s no one-size-fits-all—or even every situation—when it comes to mental health.
These past couple weeks I’ve made an extra effort to just do anything easy. So I melted and annealed some sterling silver balls, pounded them with a 2.5 lb mallet, and cut out some stars and crescent moons. Guess what? They’re so cute! So here we are with stacker rings and ear studs.😊

The first cabochon I ever purchased when I started silversmithing was a pretty marquise moonstone. I loved it so much that I waited to set it until I felt more comfortable with my work. I wore it every day for a few years until one day while I was selling at a craft fair, a woman offered me $100 for it—right off my finger! How could I say no? But I’ve missed it, and have been on the hunt for another.

One day while creativity was still stuck, I decided to just go in the studio and make something, anything. I found some moonstone rough I stashed away and of course I cut it into a marquise shape!

I love the gorgeous blue flash it has right down the center! It’s a magical piece!

Just a quick little repair for a mom friend in the studio today, because sh*t happens.

DID YOU KNOW when a jeweler joins two pieces of precious metal by solder, they use a small but very hot flame. The two pieces of metal have to be perfectly aligned, with no gaps. The temperature must reach approximately 1,200 °F for silver. At precisely the right temperature, the solder melts and literally flows into the adjacent metal forming a strong, permanent bond. The challenge is to apply just enough heat to cause the solder to flow, but not enough to melt the artwork that the jeweler has painstakingly formed.

I have this sweet friend who has been struggling with one issue right after another. I know, we all are—but this girl never really complains. She’s got the kindest, most gentle energy about her and her light is always just bright enough to feel welcoming. I don’t ever want to see her lose that light, so I made her this necklace to have as an amulet to remind her of her innate strength and stamina, to give her courage to keep growing and spreading her light to others, and to stay grounded and centered.

Tiger Iron
I found this piece of tiger iron when I was cleaning out my studio and decided it’s perfect slab to start with. It’s grounding with some stamina and self-healing energy, which is just what I need.

It’s hard to tell in the photo how brilliant the flecks of gold are against the metallic gray swirls. Tiger Iron has layers of Tiger Eye, Red Jasper, and Hematite. This slab came from Australia and feels so rich and dynamic.

I’ve been struggling to get back at the bench. Last year, while my entire family was working from home and in school at home, my studio became the catch-all space for everything we didn’t feel like dealing with. Before I knew it, I could barely find room to sit down. I hired a professional to help me clean and organize my space to make it a beautiful and functional space to be in.

Last year we also did some renovations including giving me this fantastic new view outside my studio doors. I’m already feeling inspired and ready to get back to work.🧜‍♀️
