𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗹𝗲’𝘀 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗚𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗥𝗗 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗮𝗹 & 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻/𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆!
It was no secret that Merle had a sweet tooth; multiple sweet tooths if I’m honest (yes, the plural is teeth, but tooths makes more sense to me in this sentence, so, go with it). If given a choice of desserts or afternoon treats, Dad wouldn’t choose. Instead, he would simply answer with one word. “Yes”.
Merle, would you like apple pie or cake? Yes.
Would you like chocolate or vanilla ice cream? Yes.
But Merle never liked to eat sweets alone; it always had to be a shared activity. If Dad had a cookie, he’d either have one for you, too, or split his in half. And if he DID bring one for you, it would be presented inside of a nicely folded, multiple napkined package.
I think the best part of these frequent treatings was the smile that would appear across his face as you peeled back the napkins to see what he brought for you. That small ritual of giving and receiving resulted in such joyful Merle smiles - honestly, they were sweeter than any cookie/cake/pie/bar/dessert imaginable.
𝗜𝗧𝗘𝗠 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗔𝗟 𝗡𝗨𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘𝗜 This year I decided to go back to a basic, core Merle favorite… OREO COOKIES!
Dad loved Oreos, and the Happy Birthday ones with the sprinkles? Chef’s kiss. (If the winner needs gluten free ones, fret not – I’ll send the right ones to you)
𝗤𝗨𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡/𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗬 𝗡𝗨𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗘𝗘
If you like Oreo cookies, how do you like to eat them? Do you take them apart? Do you have to have milk? Do you only like them in ice cream?
If you don’t like (or can’t eat) Oreo cookies, what sweet treat do you enjoy sharing with others?
𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗥𝗗 𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗥𝗬 – Comment below with your Oreo preferences or sweet treat sharing practices. 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱!
ALL entries for ALL questions from ALL platforms and emails will be due by MIDNIGHT on MARCH 18th. The winner will be chosen randomly on Merle’s birthday, MARCH 19th. GOOD LUCK!
