Minneapolis has been carrying a lot lately. This past month has brought grief, uncertainty, and heaviness. But it has also reminded us how deeply this community cares for one another. We’ve seen generosity, compassion, and a willingness to show up in powerful ways and I am so proud to live here.

We will be closed today, Friday the 30th, in solidarity with the national strike.

I’m in a position financially where I can do this without the immediate fear of not paying rent or bills (this month 🤞), and I know many small local restaurants and businesses are not. Please make a huge effort to support those places today and in the days ahead.

As always, it’s the community ,small businesses and individuals who show up, while large corporations sit on the sidelines and watch. Same old story. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me 10,000 times… Anyway, please support your local spots.

We as a Minneapolis community have a VERY clear and definitive answer to who will step up and help - those people have made it crystal clear. It’s your neighbors, your coworkers, small businesses, and even strangers. It’s the actions of countless MPLS residents are making everyday to help their neighbors feel safe. 💪
