😂🐝 Tomorrow’s agenda: take your lunch outside and pretend it was the plan all along.
It’s National Eat Outside Day, which feels like a very official reason to grab something yummy from The Bee Caffè, find a patch of sunshine, and call it a picnic. ☀️
No basket? No problem.
No fancy blanket? Also fine.
A sandwich, coffee, waffle, muffin, or sweet treat in your hand and a nice place to sit? That counts. 😆
Grab it to go, head to the park, sit by the river, find a shady tree, or just claim a sunny bench and enjoy one of these beautiful end-of-summer days.

😂🍪📚 Caught in the act at Susan’s Books & Gift… maybe.
Am I supposed to be eating an Eileen’s cookie while I’m still inside the bookstore… with a cup of delicious coffee from the staff break room?
Well… the evidence is disappearing quickly, so I’m thinking we may never know. 😉☕🍪
One of my favorite things about a little local shop like Susan’s Books & Gift in Aurora, Nebraska is that you can wander in for one thing and leave with a whole little bundle of happiness:

JOB SKILLS TRAINING… ON THE GO! 📚✨
One of the beautiful things about traveling is finding ways to keep learning, creating, helping, and contributing wherever we happen to be.
While we’re in Aurora, Nebraska, Buddy & Co. have been volunteering at one of our favorite little places — Susan’s Book & Gift Shop. ♡
Today Caroline is putting her creative talents to work making these sweet little book-page pendants for Susan — cutting, choosing just the right words and images, assembling the pieces, and turning old pages into something new.
And Buddy is right there working away too. 💛
These kinds of experiences are about so much more than completing a project. They’re opportunities to practice:
✨ Following directions
✨ Staying on task
✨ Fine-motor skills
✨ Creativity & problem-solving
✨ Working alongside others
✨ Taking pride in contributing to a real community business
Job skills training doesn’t always have to happen in a classroom. Sometimes it happens around a table in a wonderful little bookshop. 📖

🐝💛 A BIG THANK YOU to our wonderful community! 💛🐝

Today we hosted our very first Pokémon Party at The Bee, and what a fun day it turned out to be!
This gathering was especially meaningful because it grew from the ideas, enthusiasm, and efforts of local youth who wanted to create something fun for other kids and families in our community. Seeing people show up, participate, laugh, play, and encourage their efforts meant so much.

When our community supports young people who are willing to dream up an idea, organize it, and put themselves out there to make something happen, we’re doing more than attending an event — we’re telling them their ideas matter. ♡

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make our first Pokémon Party such a success. We had so much fun watching The Bee fill up with trainers, characters, games, conversation, and plenty of smiles. 😊

And a very special thank you to the young people who helped bring this idea to life. Keep creating. Keep trying new things. Keep bringing your ideas into the world. We’re proud to provide a little space where good things can grow. 🐝🌱
