I split for sleeves on this . It’s been so slow going and I’m pumped to finally get to the body in the round. I’m making a slightly cropped version so it’s the homestretch.

Would you believe I cast this on last Saturday??? I’m continuing to work through my stash and needed another accessory. What can I say, I’m on a major bender right now with no end in sight.

I’ve had this singles forever and I was stumped on what to make with it…until now. I wanted something speckled, soft colors, and some fuzz (Suri!). I found this pattern called Vibes Scarf and it seemed like a good fit.

The result so far - insane squish + super mindless + big gauge = hello scarf! I should have this knit up in no time. I got this Suri from a Michigan fiber fest and it’s the softest thing I have ever knit with to date.

What do you think? I’ve been playing with this color combo in my mind for a while and I think this is it.

I’m doing navy for the main color. The other color palette I’m also really into is a heathered light gray body with black and ochre but I think this is the winner. I’ve been wanting a navy blue sweater for a few years and I’ve been obsessed with this periwinkle/cornflower blue.

It’s really tricky picking out yarn too. I can’t do mohair so I’m limited to lace brushed alpaca. I think I’m going to use Knitting for Olive heavy merino + Fyberspates cumulus.

My January: in stitches.

I had a prolific January, thank you cold Michigan weather! I worked on many hats, cast on a DK sock while flying to DC for work, and finished my Night & Day cowl.

I started a plan last year to work through my stash and it feels great to put it in motion. Instead of buying new yarn for projects, I’m more intentional. I’m taking inventory of what I have, and I figure out my mood - large gauge accessories have been my go-to. It’s also a great way to hold my fi*****ng yarn stash double.

I’m looking for gaps in my wardrobe: what do I need and want? I’ve decided hats, cowls, skinny scarves are missing.

The plan is to continue this while organizing future, larger projects like garments. When I finish a few more WIPs, I’m casting on a Norma Sweater as a reward. I think I’ve already landed on my colors too.

My biggest takeaway from this project: felting is magic! Wow! How satisfying it was to pull these out of the washer/dryer and see their new shape. It’s such a fun knit.

I was able to use some Maxima yarn that I’ve had in stash for ~10 years. It’s always such a great feeling when I have yarn already on hand, to make something RIGHT when inspiration hits. It’s also amazing to work through my stash. This has been one of my goals over the last year, to pull more from my stash and I really have made something solid progress there too.
