We love a little bit of press! Thanks for stopping by!

Walking through a place like this can bring back all kinds of memories. Old doors with chipped paint, iron railings, stained glass, and kitchen pieces that have already lived one life or two. You find yourself slowing down and looking twice.

That mix of porch columns, mantel pieces, hardware, and furniture is a reminder that not everything has to be brand new to be worth saving. Folks restoring an older house could spend half a day here and still miss something good.

I’ve always liked businesses that keep useful things from ending up in the dump. There’s a certain satisfaction in seeing history stacked, sorted, and waiting for the next project. 👇🏻

We turn down a lot of people wanting to sell us stuff, but one thing we seldom turn down is really good iron.
We just picked this up recently and it is pretty fantastic and top notch condition! We love it. It’s definitely not going to last though so if you have a need (or a want), come see us in Mechanicsville or give us a call at 804-746-1030.

These panels are not online yet!

08/05/2026

This sort of thing happens to us all the time, but I guess there are worse things…
We just found these, gave them a little cleanup and some electricity and they are pretty darn magnificent. Going online here very shortly so visit us at www.governorsantiques.com or better yet, come see us in Mechanicsville from 9 to 5 Tuesday through Saturday!

08/01/2026

We get questions all the time about large planters, and these are good ones! They won’t last long, so if you’re interested, give us a call at 804–746–1030, or as always, the best thing to do is come see us in Mechanicsville!

07/31/2026

The only thing we love more than finding really cool things we forgot about or didn’t realize we had is finding an amazing home for them out in the world!
If you’re curious about these, give us a call or better yet, come see us in Mechanicsville!

They will be online soon both governorantiques.com and antiqueiron.com!

07/25/2026

(It’s also going to happen more because it is HOT and it’s marginally cooler in the store. Marginally being the operative word.)

Regardless of where it’s located on the property, inside or out, we’re always listing new pieces online at GovernorsAntiques.com and AntiqueIron.com.
The best way to see absolutely everything is to come see us in Mechanicsville, Tuesday through Saturday, from 9 to 5!

Iron, iron, and more iron. We have acres of it, but some of the pieces, like these arches, don’t require you to have acres to bring the look home. These arches are also terrific on their own as an accent, indoors or out.
Check them out online at GovernorsAntiques.com or AntiqueIron.com give us a call at 804–746–1030, or better yet, come see us in Mechanicsville Tuesday through Saturday 9 to 5!
