Well, Y'all, I have not been dealing with Dolly's death very well...after the announcement, I just sang her songs while crying for a few hours...
Then I decided to do something constructive... Although, some people might not think looking at hundreds of pictures, drawing and painting a Dolly Parton portrait for hours and hours over several days is constructive...but, here we are.

The 6th, was my birthday. It's also Frida Kahlo's birthday. I love her and feel a special connection with her. We are both q***r artists with chronic pain... anyway, I spent my birthday (and today) painting a birthday tribute to her...I would have posted sooner, but my ADHD and OCD coerced me into painting a frame as well.

On Friday I joined a live video chat with the folks from the Creative Play group and we did some artwork with prompts.
I made 3 trading cards. I used pink and/or purple alcohol markers in all three. I looked around the room and used things I saw for inspiration. #1 I used a Hello Kitty keychain for inspiration and added some strips of paper, according to prompts. #2 I used the floral glass I have paint brushes in for inspiration. Card #3 I closed my eyes and doodled squiggly lines, loops, and dots. I also used a household item as a stamp- I put metallic paint on a small cap and stamped little circles.

Mr. Moon is smiling down on the 3 D mushrooms. Mushrooms created with many layers of cardstock and painted with acrylic paint, background is sparkly metallic watercolor. 6x8 inch frame.
