💎 39 YEARS OF TQ DIAMONDS! 💎
On September 1, 1987, an 18-year-old Tim Quigley — “TQ” — opened TQ Diamonds with a big dream, a lot of determination, and probably no idea where the next 39 years would take him.
Just one year later, In Business magazine featured Tim in an article titled “Super Startups From Young Upstarts.” At only 18, Tim was already buying, selling, designing and making jewelry while running his own store on Madison’s west side.
One quote from that 1988 article seems especially fitting today:
“I’m still getting established… And I’ll still be getting established 20 years from now. I don’t think I’ll ever be totally established. There will always be people out there who have to find out about my business.”
Well, TQ… 39 years later, you’re still at it! ❤️
What started with a high school small-business class, a love for jewelry and the courage to “just go for it” grew into a business that has weathered changing times, built lasting relationships, celebrated countless engagements, weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and milestones, and become part of so many families’ stories.
And perhaps one of the best accomplishments of all is what’s happening today.
Tim Quigley (TQ), his son, Tanner Quigley (TQ2) and daughter, Taryn Quigley (TQ3), are carrying the TQ name forward together, working side by side, 39 years after that ambitious 18-year-old opened the doors.
The article said Tim had “an attitude about his business that seems older than his 18 years.” Turns out, that young upstart was onto something.
