Hi, I’m Alyssa 🖤 I figured it was time for a proper little introduction around here.

I’m a jewelry maker, plant collector, book lover, dog mom, lover of all things vintage & mid-century, and the person behind Akay Co. ✨

I started making jewelry because I’ve always loved the way a bold accessory can completely change how you feel. There’s something special about putting on a pair of statement earrings and instantly feeling a little more confident, a little more expressive, & a little more you. That’s what I want the pieces I make to do. I love creating bold, handmade jewelry that empowers women to take up space, express themselves, and wear what makes them happy. 💗

When I’m not making jewelry, I’m probably adding another plant to a collection that definitely did not need another plant, looking at mid-century furniture I have absolutely no business buying, or getting sucked into a psychological thriller book. My music taste is all over the place in the best way. I can go from Johnny Cash to Mayday Parade to Keyshia Cole without a second thought.

But as much as I love all the fun stuff, I'm an empath and who I am and what I stand for matters to me too. I want this to be a place where creativity is celebrated, women feel empowered, and people feel welcome. I think the people & things we surround ourselves with matter 🖤 I know I won’t be everyone’s cup of tea, but if you’re into bold jewelry, handmade things, & leaving the world a little better than you found it, I think you’ll fit in perfectly here.

✨ I’m so excited to share that in Madison Heights, VA is now carrying Akay Co earrings! 🥹💗

I had such a great time meeting Lyric, the owner, and getting to see her beautiful space! She is seriously so kind, and the shop is SO cute. 💕 There’s a gorgeous nail shop inside, plus a thrift shop with clothing on one side and the other filled with the most adorable vintage finds, all sourced by Lyric herself! 🛍️🌼

Now you can find some Akay Co earrings mixed into the fun, too! ✨ I’m so excited to have my work in her shop and to add another local spot where you can shop Akay Co in person. If you’re in the Madison Heights area, definitely stop in, check everything out, and show her some love! 🫶
