Mid October and the second bloom of Wasabi Arugala is feeding the bees. I'm counting about 2 dozen bees per square foot. If you look closely, a few are the oversized Langstroth commercialized bees but most are the darker, smaller wild honey bees. So it's nice to know there's a feral DNA swarm or two still in the area.

LAST BATCH! We've shipped our last batch of recycled copper jewelery. It's a gray day in Colorado and we hope to have snow - we need the moisture terribly. The day reflects my melancholy mood after 40 years...20+ years creating our Essential Metals jewelry line using recycled, repurposed copper and green business practices. To our 400+ wholesale customers over the years around the world with galleries, gift stores, National Park shops, museum shops and online stores, we won't miss the 16 hour days preparing for peak seasons, but we'll miss you and appreciate you helping us be such successful artists. To our patrons, thanks for wearing our artwork and helping to educate so many that art doesn't have to be gold or silver or be smothered in jewels. To you all, thanks! Keep being you and Resist! After several hundred-thousand pieces of jewelery, a wondrous wife and partner, awesome employees, gorgeous models, tons of awards, hilarious stories and amazing patrons, we're ready to retire. But don't worry, while the Studios at Ildancah are closing their doors, now I'll have time to express my Awen through one of a kinds and a more personal aesthetic.
