Since adding MIDO to our lineup, a few models have genuinely impressed me. One of them is the Ocean Star Tribute—a watch that perfectly captures the charm of vintage dive watches without feeling like a copy. The proportions are spot on, with a well-balanced 40.5 mm case, beautifully curved lugs, and crown guards that completely embrace the screw-down crown. It features a screw-down case back, an aluminum bezel insert, a comfortable 11-link bracelet, and one of the nicest rubber straps you’ll find at this price point. The black dial is clean and purposeful. The black day-date wheel blends seamlessly into the dial, while the luminous markers and hands provide excellent legibility. The orange lollipop seconds hand adds just the right amount of character and gives the watch a playful vintage touch. I’m not going to dwell on shortcomings because, at this price point, that misses the point. What matters is that the Ocean Star Tribute looks fantastic, wears exceptionally well, and delivers an experience that feels far more refined than its price tag suggests. It’s simply a watch I enjoy having on my wrist / M0268301105100
