Born in Argentina, designer Ricardo Basta was exposed to the beauty and artistry of jewelry at a young age. A third generation jeweler, Basta's passion for fine jewelry was ignited during his apprenticeship under masterfully trained European jewelers where he honed his skills as a craftsman and had the opportunity to work on restoring some of the most exquisite jewels in the world. Influenced by a

rtisans of the earlier eras, Basta fell in love with the style, quality, and romantic design of period pieces of jewelry, particularly those designed in the Victorian, Edwardian, and Deco periods. For more than 20 years, Basta has been creating distinctive jewelry that combines old world craftsmanship with modern technology. His pieces have been showcased in some of the most exclusive, high-end, jewelry salons in the world and worn by the most chic and discriminating clientele who have a penchant for superb quality of gems and will settle for nothing than the best. Basta has won numerous jewelry design awards for his eclectic, original designs and is recognized as one of the premiere platinum jewelry designers in the US. Ricardo Basta currently resides in Los Angeles, CA and owns a store in Century City where he designs, produces, and sells his collection as well as works one-on-one with individuals on custom design and restoration. He particularly enjoys the different design challenges private clients bring for engagement rings, wedding rings, and bridal jewelry.
