❤️ In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Sparky (2011–2026) ❤️

It is with tremendous sadness and heavy hearts that Elena and I share the loss of our beloved Sparky, who was so much more than a pet. He was our little boy, our constant companion, and an irreplaceable part of our family for 15 wonderful years.

Many of you may not know that Sparky was also part of the heart and soul of Melrose Treasures Estate Sales. Alongside his sister Emma, he accompanied us to estates as we prepared for sales, joined us at swap meets, and was often right beside us as we worked. Wherever we went, Sparky was happiest simply being with us.

But his importance in our lives went far beyond our business. He filled our home and our hearts with a love that words can barely describe. His beautiful little face, his personality, and the countless memories we shared will remain with us forever.

The emptiness his passing has left behind is overwhelming. After 15 years together, it's difficult to imagine life without our little boy.

We wanted to share this tribute with our Melrose Treasures family because Sparky was part of our journey, and someone who brought so much love into our lives deserves to be remembered.

Rest peacefully, our beautiful little Sparky. You were never just a dog. You were our family, our happiness, and a piece of our hearts that will always belong to you.

🥊 AN EXTRAORDINARY PIECE OF BOXING HISTORY — FREMONT PLACE, LOS ANGELES

One of the most historically important pieces in our upcoming Fremont Place estate sale is this circa 1950s Premier canvas athletic training dummy bearing 19 identified signatures representing several generations of American boxing history.

The names are extraordinary:

Joe Louis • Rocky Marciano • Jack Dempsey • James J. Braddock • Jersey Joe Walcott • Max Baer • Jess Willard • Ezzard Charles • Jake LaMotta • Tony Zale • Henry Armstrong • Gene Fullmer • Archie Moore • Willie Pep • Sandy Saddler • Luis Firpo • Harold Johnson • Buddy Baer • Ruby Goldstein

But the story behind the signatures may be just as remarkable.

The dummy belonged to Clinton “Klincher” Davison, himself a champion boxer, who personally collected these autographs over many years. This was not simply an autograph collection assembled by a boxing fan. Among the men whose signatures appear on the canvas are Archie Moore and Harold Johnson — two fighters Davison personally faced in highly followed championship bouts.

Davison later became involved in matchmaking and the National Veteran Boxers Association in Philadelphia.

The present owner knew Davison personally from his youth as a young Philadelphia boxer. Davison took him under his wing, and what began through boxing developed into a close friendship and mentorship that continued for the remainder of Davison’s life.

Following Davison’s death, his widow personally insisted that this and other boxing memorabilia from her husband’s collection be given to the young boxer he had mentored. It has remained in that private collection ever since.

The original PREMIER / RIVER VALE, N.J. manufacturer’s label remains on the heavy canvas training dummy.

More than a collection of famous autographs, this is an extraordinary artifact with a direct connection to the men and the world of championship boxing from which it came.

🚂 LARGE G-SCALE MODEL TRAIN COLLECTION — FREMONT PLACE, LOS ANGELES

A major private G-scale train collection is coming to our Fremont Place estate sale, with approximately 100 pieces including around 10 steam locomotives with tenders.

Highlights already identified include a limited-edition LGB/Aster 20811 “Harzbulle” in its original wooden presentation case, an Accucraft Colorado & Southern No. 60 brass 2-8-0 locomotive and tender, and a Bachmann Spectrum Silverton Northern No. 34 2-8-0, along with passenger cars, freight cars and additional railroad equipment.

Sir Thomas Lawrence R.A. Portrait — Exclusive Los Angeles Estate Sale

An exceptional large-scale oil portrait by Sir Thomas Lawrence (British, 1769–1830) will be offered during our upcoming private, by-appointment estate sale beginning Wednesday, September 16.

Portrait of a Woman in a Lace Morning Cap, oil on canvas, approximately 51 × 41 inches framed, displays Lawrence’s characteristic contrast between carefully modeled flesh and remarkably free, rapid handling of lace, costume and reflected light.

Recent close examination also revealed a faint painted “TL” inscription at the lower left, visible under strong directional light. The painting retains its aged keyed stretcher with historic inventory markings, an old lining, extensive age-related craquelure and an old identification plaque mounted to the frame reading “SIR THOMAS LAWRENCE, R.A. 1769–1830.”

This painting comes from a prominent private Los Angeles estate collection and is one of a number of significant works of art and exceptional objects being offered.

This is not an open-house estate sale. Attendance is strictly by appointment, with a limited number of guests admitted at one time.

Bobby Sirkegian’s historic 1952 Triumph Thunderbird “Pretty Boy II” was the 650cc gasoline-class drag racing motorcycle he campaigned during his remarkable teenage racing career.

Sirkegian began racing at just 13 years old and went on to accumulate more than 200 victories and numerous track records. “Pretty Boy II” was later displayed at the NHRA Museum in Pomona and was sold by Bonhams at the Petersen Automotive Museum in 2010.

Acquired at that sale and held in a prominent private Los Angeles collection for approximately 16 years, this historic Triumph will soon be offered for sale by Melrose Treasures Estate Sales Los Angeles.
