⚠️ Buyer Beware: Not All "Lab-Grown Diamonds" Are What They Seem ⚠️
We've recently seen an increase in online sellers advertising jewelry as containing "lab-grown diamonds" when, in some cases, the stones may actually be cubic zirconia (CZ) that has been coated with diamond-like material to improve appearance.
While these coated stones can look attractive in photos, they are NOT the same as genuine lab-grown diamonds.
💎A genuine lab-grown diamond:
✔ Has the same chemical composition as a natural diamond
✔ Tests as a diamond
✔ Offers exceptional durability and brilliance
✔ Holds significantly greater value than CZ
☹️A coated CZ:
❌ Is not a diamond
❌ May be marketed using confusing terminology
❌ Can lose its appearance as coatings wear over time
❌ Has a much lower value
Before making an important jewelry purchase online, ask for:
• A reputable grading report or certification
• Detailed stone specifications
• Verification from a trusted jeweler
