Giving Freedom back to Veterans
Have you ever been to a VA hospital and noticed many Veterans pulling the old fashioned oxygen tanks behind them? If you’re not familiar with the obstacles and restrictions of needing readily available oxygen, you many not realize just how much it limits everyday life.
Portable machines are available which generate oxygen anywhere. There are still limits based on battery life, but the need to deal with the awkward tank is no longer necessary. The portable generators are also light weight and easier to walk around with. Homes no longer need to be filled with hoses carrying oxygen from room to room, often a safety hazard. It gives the person who needs oxygen the freedom to live their life with a higher quality and almost as before they needed oxygen support.
After talking with a Veteran recently I understood even though this portable machine is available, many Veterans couldn’t afford such a convenience. Some don’t quality for one through the VA. Some aren’t on Medicare or any other medical support. Some, even though they are, they still can’t afford the copays involved with having one.
A light bulb popped up over my head and smoke began spiraling upwards. My military brothers and sisters needed some form of help to give them back the freedom they once had before this illness. Beads to Breathe was created over the next few days and still continues to expand in all aspects.
