Strongly influenced by an overwhelming love of Jewelry and a variety of Fiber crafts, Beading Spirits-Jewelry design and creation was established after being blown away in 2014 while attending the League of NH's Annual Craft Fair in Sunapee. It was there that I was introduced to a beautiful new beading style and technique...Soutache and Bead Embroidery!
OH MY, the POSSIBILITIES...it was like discovering the perfect combination of ALL of my interests. Color, beads, jewelry, embroidery, sewing, design, fashion, etc...Images that involved combining fabric and beads into beautiful jewelry began playing in my head continuously, day and night. THEN, just when it seemed like it couldn't get better, Metalsmithing techniques were learned and introduced! The combinations are endless, and so much fun!!
My name is Anne Niquette. I have been making jewelry in one form or another since gradeschool (remember the painted macaroni beads we would string for Motherโs Day gifts?) In the early 1990โs, I learned several Native American beading stitches, and developed a love for working with teeny tiny beads. In the mid 90โs, a short-lived jewelry line was developed with the help of a friend who manufactured fashion jewelry in RI. Button covers and Pin designs were cast, plated and then beaded (some still exist today), and more beading was done - accent pieces to attach to hair wraps. Those trends went away, and lifeโs changes took over. There were no more awe-inspiring moments until that particular craft fair in 2014. It quickly became a mission to take classes with Amee Sweet-McNamara and learn this amazing technique. Luckily, she was from NH and I was able to accomplish this goal. The rest is history...
