Hello!!!
I'm behind on orders and messages at this time. I am currently in DC with my youngest, Luke. He is recieving care at Children's National Hospital and I'm hoping we will be able to go home tomorrow. Once I'm home I'll be able to work through as quickly as I can to give everyone an update and do some catching up on orders. I should also mention that I had a minor accident that left my work tablet completely unusable and left me with a fractured foot/ankle. Yep! I'm currently walking around in a boot. I am waiting for a MRI then I will get a plan in place for my foot and ankle.
Please reach out to me again if you have not had a response by this time next week. Your messages many have been lost in the process of switching my tablet.
The past few months have been really insanely chaotic and busy that I actually had to slow down a notch for my mental and physical health. I was sorta spinning in circles with my health, home life, and the business so I took a deep breath and finally admitted to myself that I'm not super woman.
Luke was accepted into the EoE program at Cincinnati Children's Hospital. This is a great opportunity for him. So in Apri, Luke was seen at Cincinnati Children's Hospital in Ohio to establish can with his new EoE team. A few weeks later we were back as Luke had to have a upper endoscopy with biopsies to determine if he was or wasn't in active EoE. Eosinophilic Esophagitis (EoE) is a terrible disease. If you have never heard of it consider yourself much luckier than we are. If you want more information on EoE this website is a great resource:: https://apfed.org/about-ead/egids/eoe/
His biopsy showed that he was in active eoe, has inactive colitis, and his throat is now starting to narrow. So this meant that I had to eliminate the last few foods that I was able to return to his diet. It's so heartbreaking when your child has such a limited diet already they he can no longer eat his favorite foods. It is an emotional roller-coaster and causes so much anger and backlash.
We were home for a week then we were back at Cincinnati Children's Hospital for an 8 day outpatient bowel management program. It was intense with a lot of traveling daily.
Then we were home for another week now we are currently in DC this week. He is seening the colorectal department at Children's National Hospital. He had a sedated procedure yesterday and will have another sedated procedure today. He is seeing a team of doctors to hopefully diagnose and treat whatever they find in his colorectal area that is causing issues making him unable to stool normally.
We are hoping to be discharged and home this weekend. ❤️ 💙 💜
