Design fees run around $400-500 plus the price of the metal and gems being used. We can even offer you a great buy on a center diamond or gemstone if you tell us what you're looking for and your budget. The process generally takes about 6-8 weeks from start to finish, but we do get busy and book up, so plan well in advance if you need your jewelry finished for a holiday, anniversary, wedding, enga
gement, or other event. Charles Babb Designs is committed to quality both in workmanship and the diamonds and gemstones used in our jewelry. Designs are first created in a CAD program which allows them to be digitally rendered before they are ever a physical reality. This is key in allowing us to create custom designs and permits for changes to be made before any gold is poured. The next step is 3-D printing of a wax model that is used in a lost-wax casting process. All gold is karat-stamped and meets industry standards for alloy versus gold content. We use recycled gold that has been refined to pure 24 karat and combine it in-house with fresh alloy metals. The rough casting is then cleaned up in our workshop and every stone is set by hand before the final finishing and polishing. Diamonds and gemstones are hand-selected for quality and brilliance.
