The dial of the Bukhara timepiece is derived from an interior dome of the central mosque complex of the city of Bukhara - the fabled Po-i-Kaylan built in 1514.

Darkened at the edges - the appearance of the dial evokes standing at the center of a dome and looking upward. Evoking the sense of awe and peace from standing within the Maasjid itself. 🕌

The clear display caseback is marked with the iconic Kalyan Minaret originally built in 1127 by emperor Mohammad Arslan Khan. The tower was famously spared by Mongol invaders and remains as testament to the strength and resilience of the city.

The tan and brown crisscrossing pattern evokes the trodden earthen pathways of the Silk Roads which defined the city of Bukhara for centuries. A city that was a meeting point for scholars, travelers, merchants and artisans.

The display caseback reveals a custom engraved blue rotor - colored in tribute to the Zerafshan River - which made the fertility of this oasis city possible. 💧

We’re excited to announce two new watch offerings in time for Ramadan and Eid! ☪️

The pattern on the sunburst-hued Zafaraan timepiece is derived from the intricate tilework of Hisham’s Palace at Jericho - located in modern Palestine. 🇵🇸

Rendered in a stunning hue, the watch’s name and color are a tribute to Palestinian Saffron - a traditional spice harvested for generations particularly among the mountains and valleys of the Nablus region.

The case back features an emblem of an olive tree filled with birds with the words of Palestinian poet Marwan Makhoul engraved above it: “In order to hear the birds, the warplanes must be silent.” 🕊️

Imbued with mission - the purchase of this timepiece contributes to direct charitable support to the Palestine Children Relief Fund (www.prcf.net).

We’re excited to introduce our latest offering! - the Zellij Sitara - زليج سِتَاره

A star motif floats above a visible Eastern Arabic date wheel - white indices over a slate gray ring complete the dial that provides a contrast between modern and traditional design elements.

In addition to highlighting the beauty of Arabic numerals - the dial is an exploration of the contrast between “fast” and “slow” time - the visible date wheel allows the viewer to consider the progression of days within the month. An awareness that has special meaning within the Islamic Lunar Calendar.

The word Sitara سِتَاره traditionally holds the dual meaning of both star and also veil or covering - as in the “veil of stars.” 🌌

Applied lume on the hands, indices, dial and date wheel provides a striking appearance in low-light conditions. A display caseback with engraved rotor, a polished front bezel, engraved crown and black or olive brown granola leather strap completes the package.
